Sudden Contemporary Availability

Around 5 room types became available for just about every day in Oct/Nov sometime in the last hour. I can only assume that Disney was not able to rent their rooms and released them to regular DVC owners. I only noticed it as I have been stalking the site for a last minute trip in mid November. Any other explanations for this?

Most likely is they had them set aside for the refurb but for whatever reason they could be opened up. Either the refurb is behind or they decided to work in a different area during that time. Or some sort of similar switch up in the refurb.

Maybe they've been doing secret squirrel construction and they've already finished all those rooms

Who knows. I grabbed two nights in a one bedroom standard view. They were going pretty fast. I kept watching availability out of curiosity.

My first thought was that it was an error of some kind. All the booking bots are probably attacking it currently.

We just switched from a Tower Studio to a BLT 1 BR Standard View for the week of Thanksgiving.

Zero to do with this, but I am very intrigued by BLT. I think if I were buying a second contract, it may be BLT.

We stayed as a cash guest maybe 10 years ago and it was pretty good. I felt the rooms needed updating but maybe now with the refurb that's happening. Will be curious how they design them.

I just checked and got one day I had waitlisted. We had days at BLT , one night at BWV and a bunch at BCV. Was trying to get either BLT or BCV, just so we didn't have to move for one night.

If they were phantom rooms, not actual availability, what happens to your new reservation?

It happened once with Grand California. They called us to work out solutions.

Actually once they worked out solutions, once they just blanket cancelled all reservations.

This is not phantom availability, this is a set of refurbed rooms either 1) finishing early or 2) getting pushed back. I would tend to believe it is the 2nd.

One day, I had several days BLT, one day BWV, several days at BCV. Saw this thread, grabbed BLT, dropped BWV, left waitlist for BCV active. Next day BCV waitlist was filled. This was for a Saturday night first week in Dec. High DVC week.

I'm thinking I should buy a lottery ticket now.

I looked several times and you could see the rooms were leaving bit by bit.
