Anyone with recent success in adding to a six day hopper at the gate? I know the six day hoppers are rare to begin with and virtually extinct...but my parents are coming and straddling our trip and my sisters trip , they have six day hoppers we have 8...we are hopeful...she is prepared to buy a two day hopper if need be but would sure be nice not to!

I assume the lack of the response may mean no one is having luck...which is what I would expect.

...but I would welcome any info on adding to a six day but Also on adding to five day hoppers...two of my sister have those and are also looking to add a sixth day.

Great question, was going to ask the same thing. We have 6 days and want to add one more. Can't wait for a response :)

Disneyland does not sell 6 day PH anymore, the most they sell are 5 day PH. They are no longer adding days to 5+ day PH. You have to either purchase an AP or buy a new PH for the amount of days you would like to add. The occurrences of successfully adding a day are few to none.
Hopefully you will experience some Pixie Dust on your trip and get to add a day like old times, but I would plan (and budget) on purchasing the extra tickets since that is the likely scenario.

I am guessing that the official policy on "no upgrades" has been adequately handed down to the worker bees since the stories of successful upgrades are becoming extremely rare.

My guess is that they still have the technical function necessary to perform an upgrade so it'd still be possible to luck into a CM who will help but I wouldn't carry that expectation.

Shauna...you should give them your 8 day hoppers and upgrade those two six days to AP's.The cost might be close and you would get the AP discounts!
You might even sneak in a extra trip next year since you would already have your tickets.
So...a 2 day hopper will cost you $200:crazy2: and an AP is $469.So the difference would be $269 less the cost of your six day hopper.Might be worth looking into especially for the AP discounts with that many people.

Wow I am surprised...I knew the six day would be tricky but did not think the five day would be?
What a bummer that is going to cost a pretty penny...I am hoping that if I am standing there with 5 eight day hoppers we can plead our case...if the technical ability is still In place.

Back when I heard (on a Friday) prices were going up, I purchased our 6 day park hopper tickets (Saturday) prices went up Sunday and I noticed they no longer offer 6 days... I am still trying to understand why, as many have said, it goes completely against their mission, to make Disneyland resort not just a 2 day park, but a destination. Any idea why?

Now I am hearing about people getting the run-around when trying to add an additional day or two onto a 5 or 6 day ticket. We planned to spend the entire week just enjoying DLR, but now I am starting to plan a day outside DLR. Taking the DL Express shuttle from LAX, I don't like driving on vacation so this may be a challenge.

I have read on other boards about people who have been told multiple times in a trip that the option is not there technically anymore.Sorry:sad2:

...had crossed my mind...I am uncertain of when in the trip to do it....if we want to still have the magic morning, but also want to get the A/P discount....compounded with what the black out dates are for a/p.

Forgot to mention... we are staying 7 days at the Disneyland hotel ($357/night) and I really feel they should offer park tickets equal to the days you are staying.

There aren't any blackout dates with the AP that you can buy during your trip. You go in two weeks right?
As for the Airmiles hoppers I have read about two weeks. You will get a faster response if you ask on the Canadian board.
Hope it all works out for you.I haven't decided what to do yet as our trip is for 12 days. Most likely get Airmiles hoppers and upgrade to AP's.

They should at least offer on-site guests PH's for the amount of days of their reservation.

ShaunaM - Best thing to do is usue your MM the first day, or as soon as you can, and then upgrade to AP. If you use MM your first day, and visit the ticket booth later in the morning to upgrade to an AP, you can start getting the discounts.

I notice your signature says you'll be there in Sept./Oct. How long into Oct.? If the dates work for you, you could get your 2 day hoppers or even twilight tickets at the Gay Days convention rate (tickets good 10/3-10/16, purchase by 10/04). That might save your family a lot of money.

That is brilliant why did I not think of it!! I was fully aware of gay days.& our dates are perfectly aligned.

Thanks for the great idea!!

I was just going to add, if you are staying at the DLH, you should have early morning privileges without the hopper so you won't need to worry about MM. Unless I am missing something obvious?
