Success with cancelling / rebooking earlier LL time for SDD @ 7:08?

Has anyone had success if they book a SDD LL first thing at 7am but it's for later in the evening/afternoon - then when more times start to pop up around 7:08 if they find an earlier time cancelling their original LL and rebooking for an earlier time? Or does the process of cancelling take to too long that by the time you finish the earlier time will be gone?

I cancelled one yesterday about that time and it did pop up for me again around 7:14-7:17, but I didn’t try booking it. I switched to MMRR bc I was early enough for rope drop that it made more sense to rope drop slinky and the rest of Toy story land. I think you would be ok on a average crowd day, if you have kids who would be heartbroken to lose out, that may be a tougher call.
