Subway

This is what is in a chicken breast at Subway:

Chicken Breast Strips: Boneless, skinless, chicken breasts with rib meat, water, soy protein concentrate, salt, modified food starch, chicken flavor (contains salt, autolyzed yeast extract, sugar, molasses, disodium inosinate, disodium guanylate, sodium phosphates), and sodium phosphates.

Sounds Yummy!

*They* make some of the worst subs EVER. Subway is disgusting.

:lmao: Then why waste your time posting in this thread? They may not have the best subs around, but I wouldn't call them the worst. There have been others that take that reward.

Yum, I'm going to have one of those for lunch:thumbsup2

I used to really like Subway, a lot. But then they started putting less meat on the subs. And when I used to say "lots of black olives" that's exactly what I got. Now if I say that, I have to say "more, please" two more times to get close to the amount they used to put on the first time I asked. I know I could get "double meat" for another $2.25 (I think that's what they charge) but I can't see paying almost $10 for a sandwich. I rarely go there anymore, and it used to be one of my favorites. :(

Not to sound rude or snarky, but on another thread you were defending obese people. You essentially pointed out that sometimes they had no control or other medical issues that caused them to gain so much weight.

Eating a chicken-like product such as Subway certainly adds to that. Take the $2 and buy some fruit. Just fruit, not artificially flavored fruit. Not red dye 5 fruit, just fruit. Then you can make a valid argument that obesity is not caused from poor eating habits.

I know, you get like 2 little pieces of turkey or whatever meat you choose. I don't like a lot of meat on my sandwich and even I call it a thin amount. :rotfl: I love the fresh baked bread though and the fact that they have a huge amount of fresh veggies that you can put on them. Even so, I never grab lunch there except once in a blue moon. Like you, I can't justify spending that much on a sandwich. We have tons of pizza shops that make excellent subs within a stones throw of our subway and you get a heck of a lot more of a sandwich for your money. At 2 bucks a pop though. Mmmm, I just might grab one this month.

I do love their breakfast though and it's a perfect place to stop and get a semi healthy breakfast when I don't have time to grab something at home. The fact that i can get pickles and olives and lettuce on a breakfast sandwich. :woohoo:

Even their veggies are not fresh:

Banana Peppers: Banana peppers, water, distilled vinegar, salt, calcium chloride, sodium benzoate, (preservative), sodium metabisulfite (preservative), yellow #5, natural flavors, polysorbate 80.

Sodium benzoate is not just a preservative, but it is also a mutagen that turns off a vital part of the DNA, it practically embalms the vegetable.
To ensure that peppers do not change color during months (or years) of storage, Subway's peppers contain petroleum in the form of yellow #5. Artificial dyes, which include infamous yellow #5 which is being phased out of British products.

Subway's not my fave, because it's mostly bread (and lettuce...my goodness they pile on the lettuce)...little meat and sometimes stale bread at that. But, my family likes to eat there...so I am glad to hear about the $2 subs in Dec. Awesome!

So exactly what is your intent here then?!!

Btw welcome to the Dis! You should fit right in :rolleyes1

You just listed a PICKLED veggie...it's not meant to be fresh:confused3

Here in AZ, only the Meatball and Coldcut are $2, not all the subs

Subway can be decent eats, but you have to be picky. If you slather everything on the sandwich, you pretty much have a fast food burger in calories and fat.

What in the world are you talking about? All of your posts are nothing more then you trying to start a fight. School vacation time already? :sad2:

Do you honestly think that their banana peppers are fresh? Anyone with a half a brain knows they aren't. :rotfl2: Why go you run along and get the ingredient list for their lettuce and cucumbers and tomatoes.

Oh, and don't bother posting the ingredient list for their pickles and olives either. This may come as a shock to you, but.........THEY AREN'T FRESH EITHER! Oh the horror of it!!!!! :scared1:

Word...

I like Subway. In fact, I'm going there in a few minutes to pick up lunch. I usually get a veggie sub, though it doesn't sound like that will be included in the $2.00 deal for December. Maybe I'll ask, just to make sure...

Yep, that's all they going to have here in IN as well.

And I have a feeling that a certain someone is quickly going to go on several ingore lists. :thumbsup2
