My daughter told me this story tonight, it made my feet curl in horror. She was on her way to work taking the subway and was sort of rushing along once the train had pulled into the station. She headed towards the door type turnstyle thing and as she did she noticed that people, men and women were pressed against the walls for some reason, but she continued on, minding her business....Once inside the door turnstyle, she realized why they were pressed against the walls, coming towards her was HUGE rat moving quite fast in her direction.

She said she called the Lord's name several times and tried to get her feet, which had turned into lead, to move as fast as they could as all she could think was this rodent was going to be trapped in the turnstyle with her. She got out of the turnstyle, never looked back and ran up the stairs to the street.....she said she had to stop to get coffee and sit for a moment to compose herself.....we were laughing while she was telling the story, but I am sure she was very scared. Now if the rodent had just stood up, had on white gloves, red shorts and gold shoes, she would not have been so scared... ;)

How scary...I hate rodents, except the one we are all attached to.. :lmao:

EWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW

Gotta love Boston... that rat probably was on his way home from seeing his brother Johnny Damon play his first game at Fenway since becoming a Yankee!!! :rotfl2:

I would have freaked out. Rats are my number one fear. Just thinking about them make me shake. We parked in a NYC parking lot a few years back and when we returned to get the car you actually SAW them running everywhere. I ran and got in the car and I swear there was one on the next guys rearview mirror just perched on top of it looking at us. OH MY GOSH I cant even explain how I was acting. Screaming and crying like a nut!

Hey Kat.....oh.. good one: "that rat probably was on his way home from seeing his brother Johnny Damon play his first game at Fenway since becoming a Yankee!!! "

And Jane, she was screaming and praying and running, poor thing, I think I would have fainted.. I hate rats..

I used to utilize the Park St Station in Boston on a daily basis. Passing the time waiting for the trains was always spent watching the rodent activity on the rails. Most fun was watching them scurry into holes when a train was coming - boy did they move fast! It was actually kinda comical! But then, they were down on the rails and not on the platform! ;)

usually the rats are on the train tracks, not on the platforms. I would have been running and screaming too.

DW had a mouse come out from under her desk at work a few weeks ago.

Good thing it was a sturdy desk and could hold her up with all the screeming going on.We had a lumber yard across the allley and when they closed it all the rats started to look for new homes .Went through many glue traps for a few weeks.

Also here at the harbor many years ago an eldrly lady found a hurt dog on the docks nursed it back to health .After 3 or 4 months someone told her she should take it to the vets .

It ended up being a norweigen rat from one of the ships.
