I'm conducting a survey for my friend who is in a heated disagreement with his spouse over this.

So, you're in the bathroom doing your business and you notice that there is a small amount of tissue on the roll (about 2 mm). There is enough for you to complete your business and then there is some leftover. A very small amount enough for maybe a few more uses.

Do you:

1. Remove unused amount (smaller roll) and simply throw away.

2. Remove unused amount of smaller roll, insert new roll, and put the smaller roll on top of the new roll (or set it aside somewhere else).

3. Take a new roll and place it on top of the smaller roll (or some place close by).

4. Other

I am gonna choose #4..

I usually leave it for my DH to deal with..LOL...:lmao:

I usually take the laziest route. I picked #3, but there have been times I've done #1, especially if we have an entire package of toilet paper.

I chose other. If there is enough for a few more uses, no one around here would even consider changing it. (Half the time the kids don't even change it if they use it all.) Probably TMI, but in the master bathroom we can reach the spare rolls from the toilet, if necessary. The kids just know to look before they sit. If I notice it running low in there, I'll stick a new one on top of the tank for them. Now, if we're expecting company, I'll make sure there is a relatively full roll in there. In that case, I'd save the small roll.

Other.

You replace the roll when there is no paper on it. Why would you even do anything unless it is empty?:confused3

My coworker does not have a vanity or toilet paper stored in his bathroom. It is a small bathroom with no storage. So the toilet paper is in an outer room. If they notice it is low, they will get another roll and bring it in. I don't want to say yet what the contention is about;) as I don't want to skew the results.

I have a small closet and/or vanity in my bathrooms so this is not an issue in my family. When you run out of TP, you just reach over and grab a new roll.

I had to say other because I would take another roll out and set it on the tank NEAR the almost-gone roll. Since our TP is in the closet outside the bathroom, it's a pain if you're needing a new roll and you're already, um, on the pot. :)

Ah, well what we did was go and buy the stand up toliet paper thing that sits in the bathroom. It holds about 5 rolls of TP.

Tell your coworker they need a new system.;)

So you're probably more like a #3 (I should have put "or somewhere close by" like I did on #2).

I selected #3. I just take out a new roll and put it on the back of the tank. Sometimes it's hard to tell exactly how much is left, and I don't want someone else running out. If I have guests over, I make sure there's a decent amount left, or I'll switch out the roll.

Though, I'm the only one in this house that bothers changing TP ;)

use it til it's gone and grab a new roll. If it's not in the room, then you check to see if you're low and grab a new one to put on top of the tank til it's needed.

I say "other". If there is enough for a few more uses, we all leave it until it runs out. I keep extra rolls in the vanities in each bathroom and all can be reached from the toilet. I would never consider throwing the roll away when there's tissue still left on it.

I voted to replace with a new roll. I'm the one who always replaces the rolls around my house. If I wait for someone else to do it I'll regret it.

We also have a stand-up roll holder in our bathroom - I'd also recommend they get one. ;)

I voted "other". I will place a new roll on the top of the toilet's tank (temporary storage) and actually replace the roll when it runs out.

Same here. Actually I don't think the kids ever change it! We must have the same BR set up.
I don't take it off until it is empty unless company is coming but I will set out a new one.
I have left the old roll on and set out a new one and waited to see if the kids would put on the new one and nope they just left the empty roll on and used the new one and would sit it back on the back off the tank.
so I had to pick other.

I chose other because I keep a few rolls under the sink in the bathroom and since I am the only female in my house I seem to change it the most. I will wait until it is finished and then replace.

Our toilet paper is kept in a hall closet outside one bathroom. In all our bathrooms, though, I don't replace a roll until it's gone, or until there's just barely any on there (not sufficient for one or two uses).

Other. I'm in the "It's not completely gone yet, I wouldn't even think of replacing it" camp.
