I had to turn it off - all that screaming..........LOL is driving me

I agree. I watched about 10 min of it and went "OK..cheap,lame Extreme Makeover Home Edition RIP OFF!" and changed it to Amish in the City.:p

TOV

It was Ok, but there was an awful lot of screaming the last 20 minutes or so! I enjoyed seeing what the builders accomplished in 7 days...especially when I can't manage to get my house dusted sometimes in 7 days...lol.

Did anyone else notice that the kids called their parents by their first names?

I loved the show!!

I loved all the excitement. They were so grateful for everything.

I have a cousin that has called her mother by her first since she was a kid. It's really not a big deal.

Yes! That was odd

but the ODDEST thing...this family was on Trading Spouses about 3 weeks ago (the very first mom swap) (http://www.fox.com/tradingspouses/home.htm click on "Recap" and go down to Nakamuras/Biggins) and not mention was made of it...the 50k that they 'won' was supposed to be put towards renovating their house...wonder if that ever happened?

oh - and COME ON - the construction Triplets? too funny...

It is a beautiful house. But it does seem a little "over the top" for the neighborhood. I'm wondering how this family is going to be able to pay all the taxes. Would be a shame if they had to sell their dream house to pay the taxes.....

I bet Tammy is "barfing" right now while watching the show...:p :teeth: Maybe Nanna will pack her bags & move in the the Biggins now, they certainly have the room and would treat her much better. ::yes::

How did the Biggins get in 2 reality shows, let alone one.

Screaming-The dad and the sons were a little embarassed, but I think the show kept repeating scenes.

Mom-daughter scream-commercial- Mom-daughter scream-Same scene.

I hate when shows do that, it makes me feel like I have the attention span of a 2 year old.

Did not watch either show, BUT, the info from the DISHNetwork guide said that the Renovate family was finding out how the money from their Trading Spouses show would be spent, so I gather that you trade wives and the winner gets a home redo?

Actually, Faux found the family somewhere and asked them to be on a reality show, with this one (the makeover ripoff) being the original idea. Instead, the other show (the trading spouses ripoff) happened first, so they asked if they'd like to be on it as well, and they said yes.

What I want to know is, how does Faux get away with these blatant ripoffs ? The boxing show that starts next week....the home makeover show...the trading spuses....every one a BLATANT ripoff of another network's show that had been in the works longer.

Heck...ABC is even getting in on the game by trying to rip off the Apparentice with the new Mark Cuban show.

Whatever happened to originality ?

I thought the "construction crew" was the worst part. From what I've been told, they dabble in the adult film industry, so that's Fox for you. I just thought it was really lame when during the credits, they were the only ones listed under "constructin crew".....like they really did any of the work.
I am interested in next week's episode though, the family appeared to be much more deserving, one of the sons was in a wheelchair and they are going to re-do the house for him.

If I watch it next week, I'm gonna turn my volume off towards the end, :p

I enjoyed them on the first show but this one was just too much screaming for me. It reminded me of sitting in a pentecostal revival, can't take that stuff......:p

Yep...you said it - that's Fox for you!

I much rather watch Extreme Makeover: Home Edition over this drivel to be honest.

although, I AM liking trading spouses! heheh

It dawned on me last night that "Renovate" was the show that was scouted for at our home drag racing track earlier this year.

They were out there just looking for fun families with 2 or more kids to remake. I thought it odd that they weren't looking for hard luck cases or anything, just normal folk.

After seeing the show, I'm sorry we didn't take them seriously.

LOL!

Actually, at the very beginning of the show, they did mention that they were on Trading Spouses, and showed a clip of Tammy in the house telling them that rap music gives her a headache.

Cheesy ripoff of Extreme Home Makeover, but I did enjoy it, and the house was gorgeous! I want that bathtub!! :hyper: And my DH wants the 110" projection TV. :teeth:

ahhh - that explains it!

I was outside with the dogger who was taking her sweet little time doing her business!

she ALWAYS demands to go outside at 7:58...and she takes at least 5-7 minutes! (her record with me was 23...I think I brought a book outside with me - even offered it to her. heheh)
