I'm just trying to make sure I understand everything here.

I'm going to be staying on rented points. I know that I will then have to pay for park tickets and DDP. Can I buy both of these at check in? Are the prices discounted because of DVC, or are they the same?
Also, will I get the key to the world card, or will I have separate cards for room key/park tickets/DDP?

Sorry for the stupid questions. I'm still "earning my ears"!:rotfl:

Only park ticket that has DVC discount is annual pass and that is available only to members. You can buy park tickets when you show up and, if desired, put them on your room key. The DDP is available but it really has no DVC discount attached to it. I am not clear on the new process but you may have to have the member order it and pay for it before you go (someone else may be able to clarify that)

you can buy tickets on arrival but it would be slightly cheaper to buy from undercover tourist or maple leaf tickets online ahead of time and have the tickets added to your room key when you get there.

last i heard, the DVC owner needs to add the DDP for you at least a few days before you arrive. you would not be able to add the DDP yourself either in advance or upon arrival.

if your tickets are only for the length of this stay, you can have them added to your room key/KTTW card. if you buy non-expire tix to use on multiple trips, it might get more complicated...

As Charles said, DDP must be added at least 3 days prior to arrival by the member from whom you are renting. To answer your discount question, there's a small discount for DVC members at some times of the year due to the fact that DVC members are not charged the season upcharge for the plan. Whether or not this applies to you depends on when you are going.

Even if you buy no-expiration tix, you can have them put on your keys to the world card. You just need to make sure you hold onto the card for the next trip. We chose to do that last trip bc the card we got when we combined room key, park tix, etc at checkin was a more durable card than the ticket we received from Undercover Tourist.

You can buy tickets in advance from one of the ticket discounters and have them put on your key card when you check in also. That would give you a little discount. Also If you order tickets from Disney ahead of time it is less than if you buy them once you get there.
