I am a bit too lazy to figure this out myself but figured that someone here would give me an easy answer... Is there a way to transfer pictures from my memory card to the computer and still have all the photo details, I.E.: ISO, AP, shutter time etc. I understand (i think) that the histogram stays with camera only but what about the other settings? I should say that I used windows to do the transfer and right clicked/properties with no luck. If it matters I have Canon Rebel XT. Thanks in advance.

That information, including the histogram, is part of every digital picture. Transfering the pics to computer will not get rid of the info, but to see it you will need some kind of program that will view the info.

that info is all in your zoom browser software...if put the picture is on "preview "it's to the right of the enlarged photo or click on the silverish scroll bar to the right to eopen it up( mine is about 1/2 down the large previewing picture...you can also get it via zoombrowser by double clicking on the picture, when it opens in another window look on the line with the 2 arrows ( top) and the second one after the picture with edit will have a picture with a black box in it ...that opens the information but not sure if it's a histogram in that one

The data or more correctly the metadata is stored in the header of each file. It is called EXIF data. The standard is maintained through EXIF.org. EXIF information is broken into two parts. The first is manufacturer specific data that camera makers use to maintain information about images and equipment. The other more common information such as aperature, focal length, exposure, etc. is also included and this is what people think of when they think EXIF. Most image modification programs allow you to see or maintain the second EXIF data and are typically managed as part of the file. The latest specification is EXIF 2.2 which came out in 2002. There are several software applications that allow you to see or modify the meta data. One of the more popular ones I use is exifer which is free. It has come in handy when I get photos where the camera time and date were set incorrectly. I can modify the EXIF information to accurately display when the picture was taken. That allows me to put photos chronologically in order of shoot date.
