My dd is going to WDW in April with the band. At our meeting last night, one parent said that you aren't allowed on ANYthing with a purse or fannypack. I tried to argue with her but it was useless. She said it's a new rule????? Has anyone just back heard of this????? Thanks, Nasi

:Pinkbounc There are no stupid questions. I was last at the Parks last May and really don't think there would have been such a serious change since then. :Pinkbounc

That sounds dubious.

Three weeks ago I traveled with my fanny pack on and did not take it off at all (not even on Space Mountain, I just hold up the pack, put the bar down, and put my pack over the bar.

I doubt that's changed in 3 weeks. They would have to add lockers at every major attraction.

Just asked a friend who works at Star Tours, ToT, and RNRC. She told me that rule does not exist. Hope that helps! :)

Maybe she was thinking about Universal Sudios and IOA. They have several rides that you can't take anything on, they do provide lockers for those rides.

I was just thinking that if it's a high school band maybe the person in charge doesn't want to allow them to bring them for fear of the person losing their stuff? Maybe that person is afraid that they'll be held accountable? :scratchin

Glad to hear things haven't changed since August. I wore mine on every ride also. Can't see there being a problem anyways.

It doesnt make sense... saying you can't carry a purse or a fanny pack is like saying, "Hey don't bring any money here so you can buy our great souvies."

I think its a "band" rule the band made up. They did that when my sister went in 2002.

My son has beeen on a similar band trip to Disney in CA several years in a row. It is a band rule for them that the kids don't carry anything in to the parks. Money and 'stuff' get lost, left and taken when absent minded kids are not paying attention. Only time I have had to leave my bag behind was at Universal and as another poster said they had lockers.

Thanks everyone. I didn't think it was true but since my last trip was Feb 05 and this parent said she "just got back" I thought I'd ask here. It wasn't the band staff that said it, just a parent who was giving out incorrect information to 200 people. That drives me crazy. Nasi

Disney would never be able to enforce a rule like that, because a majority of the rides have a separate ride entrace and exit. I've taken a small purse on every ride I went on.

With that said however, I'm sure if you had a backpack that was too large, Disney would make sure that your bag is waiting for you when you get off the ride.

You can take your purse with you at Disney. Universal has rides that they don't allow bags on, but there are lockers (a pain in the buttinski, but free for a short period of time) for you to store them in.

The question isn't stupid...but whoever is telling you that is. She probably also thinks Walt's head is frozen someplace and that Disney faked the moon landing along with NASA.

We just got back and I took my backpack (not huge but not that little) on every ride. I didn't have any problems and no one said anything to me about it. I just had to remember to loop it around my foot sometimes, so I wouldn't forget it!
