Stupid question: what is a "Ding"?

I keep seeing this mentioned in many posts. I'm guessing it's some sort of cheaper air fare. Is there a website I can go on to find out more about it, and which flights have Dings? Thanks!

BTW--can you tell our family usually drives everywhere? The last time I flew was in 1986, and dh has never flown!!!

DING is exclusive to Southwest. It's a limited time offer for very good airfare.

You have to download software to your computer. When I DING comes up for your airport you have to access the special pricing through the DING software.

Before you do that, check on Southwest to make sure your airport is included in their flights.
