Who buys the guy's flower? The girl buys it for the guy, right?

Usually the girl buys the boy's flower. Sometimes they neglect to do so.

I would have the boy and girl coordinate this.

The girl buys the boy's flower. Usually they get together and coordinate teh color. If the girl is wearing a blue dress teh boy will usually make sure her flowers and ribbons go with the dress. The girl will make sure his flower also goes with her dress.

The girl buys the boy's flower, that way she can make sure that it all "goes". The boy buys her flowers and he should have an idea of what color she's wearing so he can make sure the flowers go. It's nice when it all coordinates.

My daughters always bought the guy a white rose for his lapel. Gotta love those awkard attempts to pin in to his lapel. I think that it goes on his left lapel.

ok, that's what I thought. She wouldn't show him her dress, of course, but she did pick out his tie so that it would match. So we'll take his tie to the florist, I guess. For some reason, I started thinking that he was supposed to buy the whole set of flowers (his and hers). My, it's been a long time since I've done a prom!
