For those that have stayed at POP... I saw some cute pics of people posing by their birth year signs. Do they have any signs past 1999? My DD is 2002. She would be crushed if everyone had a sign to pose beside except her. I figured if I know they don't have her sign, we will just skip this and she'll be none the wiser!

Yes, the signs only go from 1950-1999 which are the years on the Pop Century (1900-1949 were supposed to be in the other section that never was finished).

I wouldn't be too disappointed. My birth year "big event" was the opening of the first Wal Mart. I'm embarassed by that one.

But you could make this a learning experience for your daughter. Research yourself what happened in her birth year and then talk to her about it while you are looking at the other signs. I know my granddaughter (born in 1998) still is amazed that her stepfather (my son) grew up without the internet and cell phones. Her eyes pop out when I tell her I didn't even have cable and remember quite well when ESPN debuted.

:lmao:

I was thinking it would be a fun game to let them search for their year... but it's not worth doing and seeing her get upset. She gets that "Little Sister" complex already because her brother gets to do so much that she can't. And in reality, we will only be there 2 nights, so we probably will not have time to explore the resort anyway.
