Stupid ? of the day: How do you pronounce Dis?

So I feel immensely stupid asking this but I realized I don't know how you pronounce Dis. Does it rhyme with Kiss or fizz? Off to go hide in a corner with the dunce hat now

Don't worry I didn't know either. Apparently it's pronounce DIZ like Fizz. I always just said the letters D I S, ya know since they're capitalized (DISboards). I thought it was an acronym to something like Disney Information Site or something. I felt when I found out you actually say the letters a certain say.

The DIS is as in DISney ... Disney!

How do you pronounce Disney?

If you say "dizz-nee", then the DISboards is pronounced "dizz-boards."

If you say "diss-nee" (never heard that one before!), then the DISboards is pronounced "diss-boards."

I guess I just don't get how you wouldn't think to associate DISboards with DISney ....

I always associated DIS with Disney, but when Dis stands alone the proper pronunciation according to the English language would differ from the sound it makes in the name Disney. So I didn't know which way it would be pronounced. I told you it was a stupid question, but I wanted to know for sure Now I know
