Well, maybe it's not too stupid....lol

I was just reading someone's question about packing bags for the kids for their first WDW trips. I am in the process of collecting things too. Some people made some great suggestions (e.g., lanyards, pins, autpgraph books, etc)...

Here's the question - where do you get those things BEFORE you go to Disney??? I mean, I have gotten Princess coloring books, crayons, etc but the official and practical stuff, hmmmm....

I have looked on Ebay but it all seems so pricey once you add shipping and after asking around, 3 autograph books for $27 didnt seem like such a bargain.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!!

Thanks!

You can buy those things on Ebay, at a local Disney Store if you have one, or at an online store, but unless you find a deal, it may be easier to wait until you get to Disney. The kids can't do much with a lanyard on the plane and buying it there can be part of the Magic as they choose what they want. I have bought pins to trade online, but that's really it. The autograph book, lanyard, etc... we bought at the parks and I don't regret it.

www.laughingplace.com will have some stuff for you to but too....you are not going to get it cheaper than in the parks, but it is not outragoeus...it is nice to have some stuff ahead...like the autograph book as the characters will be at the front of the park and you will not have to go"shopping" at the beginning of your trip...same as the lanyards and pins...

We have purchased souvies at the Disney Store before we go... small stuffed animals on sale, other trinkets, tee-shirts, etc. Big savings! If you don't have a Disney Store, try DisneyDirect.com

For autograph books, I would go to the dollar store or Walmart near you and purchase plain, bound, colorful blank books that can serve this purpose... who needs to spend $6-8 on an "official Disney autograph book"? Get a cheap one... buy some Disney stickers and have your kids put stickers on the cover of the characters they want to meet....
This will be a great way to decorate the book, and allow the kids to help plan for their trip! :grouphug:
