I joked with my kids before our cruise that I was going to order roasted Donald Duck for dinner one night.
They were horrified to discover duck on the menu the very first night in Luminieres.
No, I didn't order it, but I was tempted. Am I the only one who is surprised Disney has that on the menu?
Maybe I'm just warped.

I bet if you didn't say that to your kids they would not have even noticed the duck on the menu. I guess you could say you were having Sebastian one night also, how about some broiled Nemo. I think you could do this with a lot of things on the menu. It may be a fun game if you had older kids who could come up with different names for the dinners. I would not order the duck only because I do not like it but I fully intend on ordering shrimp, lobster, steak and fish.

I think it would be cool to order steak one night and say, "Awwww, looks like the cows from 'Home on the Range' didn't manage to save the farm after all." :jester:

Well at least they stopped having the MOUSE stew!

Okay, this one is not directly cruise line related, but it's one of my favorites. We are thinking of pulling it on my nephew when we bring him to Disney World next month:

From Deep Thoughts by Jack Handey:

One thing kids like is to be tricked. For instance, I was going to take my little nephew to Disneyland, but instead I drove him to an old burned out warehouse. "Oh, no," I said. "Disneyland burned down." He cried and cried, but I think that deep down, he thought it was a pretty good joke. I started to drive over to the real Disneyland, but it was getting pretty late.

You could always drive to Port Canaveral on a day when the Magic and Wonder are not docked and say, "Oh, no! Mickey's boat must have sunk!" :jester:

Oh yeah, did the "Found Nemo in the Sushi Bar" line once too, right after watching it in the Buena Vista theater.
The kids were 12 and 16 at the time of the cruise, and needless to say we have a lot of humor in our house.

You guys are sick! LOL! Makes me glad to be a vegetarian!

After hearing your posts. On the repo cruise, I guess I will eat a lot of salads.

Barb,

Your post cracked me up!:hyper: :bounce:

My sons would totally expect any of those types of jokes played on them by me. The trouble is, at this point, they would just look at me and say "Yeah, right, ma" - just like they always do. ::yes::

Okay, this isn't about food, but when all of those hurricanes were rocking Florida this year I was watching the news coverage on it one night. My nine year old daughter walks into the room right as they are showing different pictures of the destruction. I said "Look, there's Cinderella's castle laying down on it's side." The look on her face was pure terror. Of course I was just being silly, and considering that she has lived with me since she was born you would figure that she would be hip to when I was joking. She then grabbed the remote and rewond it (tivo) going "No, no, no, no" She was pretty mad at me once she saw that I was lying! I felt pretty bad after that!

ROFL!!! I couldn't have done that with DD. She would have just been devistated and would want to go help Cinderella fix her castle. :) Of course she is only 4 yo.

We are nice to our kids once in a while.
Best surprise we pulled on them was Christmas 2000. They knew we were going to Disneyland in July of 2001 and meeting my cousin and her kids there.
So when the last gift they unwrapped airline tickets and the tour packet for Disneyland, they were like...."yeah, we know we're going this summer". My wife and I asked them to check the dates on the airline tickets. My son look at them, and said "why does it say the flight leaves at 10 am December 26th?" Because we're going to Disneyland tomorrow!!!!
Never been there for the holidays before, the decorations and snow were great, but boy was it packed. They had to stop selling tickets 3 or the 4 days were were there because they were at capacity.
