My "E" key has fallen out. It's taken me 15 minutes just to type this! 3PM tomorrow, I hit the Apple Genius Bar. Fingers crossed please!

I don’t know details, but my son is getting a new keyboard and other stuff done for free on his laptop (MacBook Pro bought in 2018) after apple was sued. You may look to see if yours qualifies.

Back from the Apple Store and VERY happy with them. They took my MacBook, installed a new keyboard and gave it back to me, free of charge, in 10 minutes! Another lady sat down next to me at the Genius Bar who had dropped her laptop, resulting in a broken screen, keyboard and worse... 15 minute wait, laptop returned as good as new... free of charge again! Great staff, great work ethic, great customer values

Ah. From like 2015 to 2019 they used a new style of key (butterfly switch) that was scandalously prone to failure. The “Magic” keyboards are generally rock solid.
