So, a few months, or maybe just weeks ago, there was a post about a stupid guest who somehow managed to get out of the restraint on Soarin and stood just outside the ride area while the ride was in motion. The powers that be actually shut down Soarin, on both coasts, to react to the incident.
So, this week, we were at DL and CA, and I noticed, on everyride that had a buckle, such as ToT, ST, Soarin, Indy and others, after they had the electronic confirmation that all the seats were buckled, they had everyone, row by row, physically pull on the yellow strap.
Never enountered this at Disney before and I'm wondering if this was due to the Soarin incident?

To me, hopping out of a moving ride would be far scarier. Wow.
So true and so sad at the same time!
. I experienced some pressure to ride from those I was with so I tried and thought I could overcome the panic of it, but in the end there was no way. Of course I would never try to get out myself from any ride if it were in motion or about to go up like on Soarin!
this is not new, this is SOP for DL/DCA and has been on every trip I've ever taken there. If they don't do this in WDW I'm not sure I'd want to go!
I don't use the strap between the legs but I love to ride in the middle row, because I can see people around me it helps with my fear of heights. I hope someday you are able to ride it!
