For the two or three weeks, DS (14 months) has been wetting through his diapers every night. He wakes up at 2 or 3 in the morning, completely soaked!! There have been times that the diaper has burst and he's covered in those gelatinous pee balls!!

I've tried moving up in diaper size, but it only slightly improved (no pee balls). He's now is a size five diaper, which is 27+ lbs, when he's only 21 pounds!!

I've changed from Papers to Luvs to Huggies to store brand and back to Pampers again. He won't go to sleep without his bottle, so cutting off his liquid intake isn't an option. He also has a "peek-a-boo" *****, so it's not like I can reposition the weapon.

Any ideas? I change him right before he goes to sleep at 7:00 p.m. He's exhausted then, so keeping him up later isn't an option either.

Thanks!

Which Pampers are you using?

We used Pampers Cruisers and I don't recall ever having an issue. We'd awake many a morning to a 10 pound of pee diap.

BTW - I love the smell of Pampers! I miss it!!!!

I could change my kids without waking them up. DS went through a phase like this too. I would change him again before I went to bed. It really seemed to help. On occassion I would put a maxi pad or 2 in his diaper. I would also try to cut back on the liquids little by little. I know that will be hard though.

Have you tried Huggies Overnites? I had to use them when DS was wetting through his diapers at night also. They are hard to find. I think CVS or Target carries them.

LOL - gelatinous pee balls!

My son leaks at night also, we use size 3's for overnight even though weight wise they're big.

Have you tried the Huggies Premium ones? Those work very well. They're expensive, but if you only use them at night they should last you awhile.

I also remember the Pampers Cruisers were very good, and ditto on the smell of them - they smell great when you open the packaging.

I primarily use Cruisers, but sometimes use Baby-Dry when money is tighter. I've also tried chaging him at 11, when I go to bed, but he wakes up, then is ready to party! :woohoo:

I'll look for those overnites diapers.

Thanks for the idieas!

I had to use diaper doublers unless my sons wet through their diapers, huggies, pampers, luvs, etc. It didn't matter the brand or the size. Good luck, they were a laundry/chaffed skin saver.

P.S. Diaper doublers looked kind of like a sanitary pad.

Do you give him a bottle IN bed, or before bed? It's not a great idea to let him have a bottle in bed. It's a hard habit to break the older they get. If he's drinking in bed that's why he's peeing so much too! My DH is a pediatric dentist and bottles in bed are a big no-no...very bad for their teeth. he takes kids into the operating room *every week* because of baby bottle cavities (or from nursing). If they fall asleep with juice or milk in their mouth, all the sugar sits in their mouth and literally rots their teeth. Sorry to be a party pooper, but I'm sure you want what's best for your baby!

Do you know where you can find the diaper doublers? Are they cheaper than maxi pads?

I buy my ds's diaper doublers at Food Lion grocery store. I've never seen them at Wally World. They work beautifully.

I have a 7month old son, and we had this same problem. After trying numerous things, I finally started double-diapering him. I put on his regular diaper, then a Huggies Pull-Up on top of that. Using two diapers didn't work...only using a diaper then a Pull-Up worked. I think this is because a Pull-Up has elastic all around the waist and really holds everything in. Good Luck!
