Stupid Commercials

I REALLY hate the commercial with the couple in the canoe that springs a leak, she reaches in her purse, pulls out a tampon and uses it to stop the leak in the boat. That was fun to explain to a 9 year old boy!

And why does she have the WHOLE box with her? I'm sorry, but if you are bleeding so bad you need to keep and entire box in your purse, I think you should be heading for the hopital to get a pint or two!

Definitely the commercial with "Bob" looking for "wood" at the home improvement store. I think it is for a new male enhancement product, but it is VERY suggestive, and I can just hear room fulls of 12 year olds snickering every time this commercial comes on.

If you live anywhere near Memphis, then you probably hate "I'm attorney Corey B. Trotz, big or small, I work them all" and the HORRIBLE commercials for (I kid you not) It's All Good auto sales, too. This fool who owns this car lot at absolute ground zero of the demilitarized zone of Memphis caters to high risk, low income, unable-to-get credit anywhere buyers, and makes low-budget commercials to match.

I'm probably the only one who hates that AFLAC duck! Enough already! (I don't have a general problem with animals, or even birds of any kind; in fact, I still like the Geico gecko, even though I can't spell it).

And I hate any Coors Lite commercial. Sexist and tasteless. Obviously marketing to someone other than me. I will not buy Coors Lite again, ever. I'll stick with Bud Lite, who's commercial's totally crack me up, especially the one where the woman sees her neighbor's head in the freezer and screams, and the one with the stripper dressed as a cop...lap-slapping hilarious!

I do like the AFLAC duck, even better - the guy at the end of the first few; he just has "that look" on his face!

Do people really make purchases based on commercials?

People DO buy products based on commercials; that's why companies spend millions of $$ on advertising!

As for me personally, I'm much more likely to boycott a product based on (what I perceive as) offensive advertising than I am to purchase a product based on great advertising. Unless I think it's REALLY brilliant, as w/ Bud Lite.

You don't have to see the commercials.

Haven't seen any of these in my house. It is Netflix, playstation II and Barney tapes with an occasional PBS Mystery. I don't watch TV just because I can't tolerate the commercial especially when they repeat the same commercials in less than an hour.

This Thread reminded me of my all time favorite ORlando Area Television Show...any of you Orlando folks addicted to this? How about WDW travelers...The one and only Family Auto Mart Show....Wow..I would laugh so hard through that show, I always ended up in tears...

There are a lot of commercials out there that I dislike, but what really burns me up is when the station will air two "mini" commercials for the same product, in a row!! The worst offenders are usually McDonalds. Are they one commercial? Are they meant to be two? Just make one 30 second spot, rather than two fifteen-second ones! And I really don't like the whole, "I'm lovin' it!" campaign to begin with...

I HATE those Quizznos one...gross me out everytime. After seeing that, I can never help but think is that what is in the 'chicken' sandwhich I just ordered?!?! YUCK!

I HATE those stupid "I've got some good news" Geico commercials...I have to say though, the 'rapper' one, "Mr. Jiggyfly" always makes me laugh when they say his name!!!

I'm another who HATES those stupid local car dealership commercials. We have these ones down here where they have this 800 year old guy sitting on a TRACTOR, talking in the WORST Maine accent I've ever heard...he like holds the words too he's like, "Do you want a new caaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah? Come dowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwn heaaaaaaaah to blah blah blah deaaaaalaaaaaship" It is SOOO annoying!

Also, we have this one for this attorny, Ronnie something, and I swear they must have picked the two people in the world with THE worst hair dues(and they can't act). Then Ronnie comes on and is like, "I'll settle your case for 20 dollars, 20 DOLLARS!" Then the people are like, "Ronnie settled my case for pennies on the dollar....I paid just 20 dollars, 20 DOLLARS!" They must say 20 dollars 15 times in that commercial!!
