Has anyone ever said something really insensitive to you right after they are told that you're pregnant? Let me preface this story by saying that I'm a teacher and plan on continuing to work just like I did with my other two children. I am going to have my DH's young cousin in class this year (there is no other teacher for the course). My husband's aunt (her grandmother) found out we're pregnant yesterday and her first comment was, "how will you teach my granddaughter?". That just hit a nerve. I hate the thought of leaving my students and I'm planning on as little time out as possible. Of course, this comment was followed up by someone else saying, "of course, you'll be staying home now with three." I don't understand why people can't just say, "congratulations." Am I just being hormonal and sensitive? I was so miserable yesterday that I started to second guess the idea of having this baby (obviously, it's a little late now).
