My parents are I are heading down to Orlando in early December. We've spent some time at Universal in the past but we haven't been there since Transformers and Despicable Me went in.

I'm planning on returning to Universal in February so its not crucial that we see everything. We've also seen all the shows and "walk" thru attractions (ie diaster) before.

The plan is to take one day and head over to Universal and IOA to see the highlights. It's going to be Dec and probably chilly so I'm assuming we'll skip the IOA water rides. My Mom also hates big coasters so unless the wait is long we'll be skipping those.

The question is which should we do first Universal or IOA? Our must do's are Harry Potter, Despicable Me and Transformers. We are planning on going on a Friday with no express pass. Would we be better off hitting Despicable Me and Transformers at rope drop and heading over to IOA in the afternoon for HP? Or stick to the plan everyone recommends and doing HP first?

Do the Studios first...DM always has a long line. Transformers is doable first thing. Save HP for that afternoon.

Thanks guys for the advice! I think we will hit up the studios first!

Thanks for asking this question I am going with my entire family kids and all and I wanted to know which to visit first!:thumbsup2

Good plan. Just to add that early December is very slow so you should be okay most any way you work it. ...and if the coasters develop any lines to speak of and your parents aren't riding, use the single rider line for little to no wait.

I'm kind of wondering the same thing! We don't do the big roller coasters either. But I was thinking IOA first since I Figured Harry Potter would have long lines? Am I wrong? Lol, would Dispicable me be a better choice to do first? I'm going on a Monday in January, no holiday weekends or anything

When we were there in August, Despicable me had 90 min waits almost all day long.Harry Potter had less of a wait later in the day then Despicable me did

Ahhh, Okay! Then I guess I'll do the studios first!
Maybe it's everyone's plan to do HP first! Haha

but this is early December, it won't be "that" crowded, but the plan is still good just not comparing apples to apples in that scenario.
