Inspired by Robo's brilliant thread on Noobie questions, I started thinking about all that I have learned while visiting this board. I've only been around for a little more than a month, and I'm still "earning my ears," but I have already learned quite a lot. Such as .....

EMH are great! They're free! You should always take advantage of EMH.
You should NEVER use EMH. Parks will be way too crowded.
If you have to miss one park, skip AK. It's a glorified zoo.
If you have to miss one park, skip MGM. It needs to be updated.
If you have to miss one park, skip Epcot. It's not for little kids.
You should definately wear crocs on your trip. They're lightweight and comfy.
You should definately wear flip-flops on your trip. Keep your feet cool.
You should definately wear sneakers on your trip. Avoid blisters.
SM stands for Splash Mountain.
SM stands for Space Mountain.
You should never visit WDW in the summer. Too hot, too busy.
You can visit WDW any time of the year, as long as you plan well.
Don't go to WDW without a touring plan.
Flexibility and "Dave-style" is the only way to enjoy WDW.
Strollers are a hastle. Leave them at home.
You definately need a stroller. Even for bigger kids. Maybe for teens, too.
You can't enjoy WDW without at least a half-dozen TS meals.
WDW has fantastic CS restaurants. That's all you'll need to use.
Stitch is everywhere! My kids love him!
I can't stand Stitch. They should bring back Alien Encounter.
I can't stand Stich or Alien Encounter. They should bring back Mission to Mars.
Backpacks are a must. Fill them with ponchos, maps, snacks, band-aids, etc.
Backpacks are a pain. All you need is your park ticket and cash.
Mission Space is awesome! Best thrill I've ever had.
Avoid Mission Space. You'll be woozy for a week if you ride it.
Have you seen my Disney tattoo?
IllumiNations is by far the best fireworks show at WDW.
Wishes is by far the best fireworks show at WDW.
Fantasmic is by far the best fireworks show at WDW.
Skip the fireworks shows. It's a great time to find short lines.
Beware of the tap water at WDW. It tastes funny.
The tap water is fine. Don't be an aqua-snob.
Disney is getting rid of too many of the old classics, like Horizons.
Disney is getting out of date. They need more new rides.

I think , as you are finding, with over 100,000 members, you can get 100,000 opinions. You have to read each an decipher what it means to you. If unclear, post another question asking the "why" behind the persons opinion. At least then , you can make an educated decision. I guess you were being sarcastic saying you learned so much, but you really and truly can learn a lot here!

That was great!!! :rotfl2: :rotfl: :lmao: I too have learned many things by visiting the DIS Boards and have a list of "tips" for when we go in September.. the Boards truly are very helpful when you need answer to a question :disrocks:

All those other items are pure fluff. The REALLY important stuff is...whether or not to wear a tube top, and where to apply Body Glide.

I have learned that:
Alfredo's is the greatest Italian restaurant in the world.
Alfredo's is an over-glorified Olive Garden.
The Tower of Terror is potentially lethal to anyone under 8 years old, or any one over 40 years old.
You can safely ride the Tower of Terror 13 minutes after birth.
Johnny Depp is apparently "yummy."

:thumbsup2 ;) :lmao:

He was being facetious. :)

OP, this was awesome!! Sheesh, I don't know how people could possibly be confused about WDW when you just laid it all out for them!! :lmao:

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: And who would have known it only takes a newbie to figure it all out. Thanks for the laugh.

Thank goodness you cleared it all up! :thumbsup2 It's really annoying when everything isn't explained properly! :lmao:

I can stop reading threads now as I have learned everything. :rotfl2: :rotfl2:
