I'm in High School and finals are coming up and i was wondering if anyone had any good tips for studying?
Any help is appreciated:yay:

Well, finals for me don't start till mid-June, but I am studying for AP's.
Generally, I just cram the night before or don't study at all, and it usually works for me.
So I don't really have any tips. Good luck, though!

I'm an association girl. I take important facts, highlite them in different colors and put them in a unique position on a page. That way, when I need to remember that "2+2=4", for example, I'll see it as highlited in green and in the top left corner of my study sheet. I have friends who swear by pacing in circles repeting the facts to themselves outloud. Also, if you don't get easily distracted, try listening to music or watching tv while studying, but make sure it's something you've listened to or seen a lot. This really helps with my association thing because, going back to the prior example, I'll remember that I got to studying "2+2=4" when Jim put Dwight's stapler in jell-o.

Of course, study in little chunks and start early, but I'm sure you've heard that plenty of times before.

Good luck with your studying, and I hope I was some help with methods you may not have thought of before. :thumbsup2

Organize all the notes you've taken.

*Ask the teacher about any doubts. It doesn't matter if the material was covered a long time ago.

*Several days before the test, do a memory test.On a piece of loose leaf paper, jot down all you know about the subject you're being tested for. It doesn't matter if you leave out some information. When you're done, look back at the text book and fill yourself in on what you didn't know. Do this for every chapter that is coming out on the final.

*Make an outline of the most important information.

* Study and review each chapter at least five times before the test.

*When taking a test, only focus your mind on the material you learned. Do not think of anything else, or distraction will cost you your grade.

*Eat a hearty breakfast before the test.

ORGANIZE. I start by buying a little flashcard box for each class. I take all my notes and text work (In each class) and start making flashcards this time of year. (I usually have well over 100 for each class) Then about 2 weeks before I quiz myself. I take out the flashcards I know the answers too and then concentrate on the questions I dont know. By the time Finals roll around, know everything I studied and its commited to my long term memory.

Find a quiet place in your house that doesn't have a lot of distractions and study there. Don't study for long periods of time though, you'll get worn out adn miserable. Take breaks too and reward yourself. Study for an hour, then take a half hour TV break or something.
