I've been reading here and there and I know I've read some place about stars'n'cars not there anymore and something about meet'n'greet. Can anyone give me the right info? I know we've some characters last year around cinemagique, Stitch live. Is this still there?

There's a roped off area now, which is a huge circle. Characters appear in that circle (it's huge), and people stand behind the rope.

I've experienced it once, so can only speak from then, but it was terrible. We didn't even get to see half the characters, and people in the front row obviously won't move because most want to see almost every character.

They do drive in on 2 or 3 cars.

Was at DLP in January and my observation of the Stars & Cars was that it's a great concept, but the characters always get swamped by the people pushing in the grab their favourite character. Depressing when you have waited patiently and people barge in!!!!

We saw it from a distance in February but didn't join it! It appeared to be a scrum of the worst kind.

They rope off the area near the bandstand and the characters come out. If you're lucky enough to be at the front you'll have the chance to meet the characters that are there but if you are further back it seems almost impossible as the ones at the front don't seem to budge until they've met all the characters.

There was lost of pushing and shoving when we were there but that was Feb half term so the parks were very busy!

So.. Not worth doing if you don't want all the pushing?

It's a bit manic alright. it's on from 12-2. we went at 12 and it was chaotic. but a few people have said to me that it's quieter later, so maybe go at 1?

thanks dhidra, I will try. I don't want all the madness, chaos and pushing. And I doubt my kids would enjoy such meet'n'greet.

It's worth it if you are seen first by a character, but if you think you will be able to get a pic with every character that comes out then forget it!

I doubt to get a pic with every character, but a few would be nice.

It really does depend on the crowd levels. When we were there before February half term and it was very quiet the rope was always just one person deep so everyone met at least a few characters. Some characters spend less time with each person individually so move around the circle quicker than others who give a lot of personal interaction. The group of characters only stay for a certain length of time - perhaps 20 minutes? - then go off in their cars. A lot of people go away then but if you stay put for 5 or 10 minutes, more cars with different characters come back and this is repeated a few times in the total 2 hours so it is worth hanging on and getting to the rope then. At busy times I imagine people start staking out the rope long before 12 initially but perhaps going later and waiting out a character break might be the best bet. It is quite hard to get a decent photo with everyone crowded around but they do sign autographs.

thanks, we'll stick around and see.
