Was wondering if someone could help. In a very old copy of the Brits guide I remembered there being a bit about being in the Studios parade. You had to go to guest services first thing, and then the first person to do that got to go in the parade on the last float.

I vaguely remember seeing a family do this about 8 years ago and was wondering if this still went on? My 3 year old son is always pretending he's in the parade when he plays the parade music CD at home and so i wondered whether the family of the day still existed?

Am I going completely mad? Or was this for WDW?

Hope someone can help,

Sleepy:confused3

We were the family of the day at AK once and we carried the rope during the rope drop to the back of the park and were the first family on the safari ride.

They also gave us a couple of fast passes to use anytime and a certificate.

This was all pre year of a million dreams but kind of what they are doing now.

The just picked us out the crowd that morning as we were waiting for AK to open.

Hi
There is no longer the parade with floats in the studios. It finished earlier this year I think.
Two of my children were chosen to go on the float back in February 2007 and we walked along behind the rope with the CM's, it was a great experience for them.
In the High School Musical shows and Tarzan show they have children come out from the audience to join in dancing or playing instruments.

Thanks for your replies pyebibby and gshumaker- your children must have been sooooo excited.

It's a shame there's no parade at the studios now- is there anything to replace it?

As for DS, I guess I'm going to have to continue to be the crowds and spend Saturday afternoons waving to my son, as he pretends to be Mickey Mouse or Mary Poppins in the parade!

If you watch from the start of the parade route or at least where the rope starts, then he maybe able to hold the rope with the CM's and follow the end of the parade. We did this one year after the Halloween Parade, but I can't remember how or why unless DS's were asked.

when i was there in may on one day on the dream parade there were a group of girls one had minnie ears and viel and bride to be sign, they were taken off by a cm and you could here them saying what is going on, they had no idea, then in the parade on the jungle book float they were all dressed up and on the float dancing away, it was really great they must have had a fab time and had no idea, so that was nice that they got picked.

Wow! I'll look out for that on our trip. My son would love it if that happened to him!

It wouldn't hurt to pop into City Hall, we were offered places in the WDS parade float when I called in to ask about a Birthday Cake, they arranged it there and then for us. :goodvibes

In our case it didn't work out as we decided to do the Tram Tour to kill time while waiting and it broke down several times whilst we were on it, needless to say we missed the parade. :worried:

Great idea! I'll definitley do that!!! It would be so amazing for DS. He'd love it!!!!
