Just returned from a split stay. Our first stay was at the BCV. I've been going to WDW for over 30 years, so I've stayed in many resorts in the past, including BC, YC and BCV. This studio, room 406 was extremely small, and in dire need of a makeover. The kitchen area and the vanity areas were tiny, as was the general footprint of the room. I don't think they had vacuumed before our arrival. The only good thing about this was the balcony. It overlooked the quiet pool and you CAN see the MK fireworks to the left. Note, sliding door was EXTREMELY difficult to open.

The next resort was BWV. This was a first time for me in a villa here. The room SEEMED enormous compared to BCV. Great French door that opened to patio. the kitchen area and vanity area were very large. I would have guessed this room had been redone, but it is my understanding that the BWV are slated to undergo a redo this year. In fact, most of the construction vehicles were stated in the parking lot.

So, hands down, defintely BWV over BCV. The only thing that will keep me going back to BCV is, of course, Stormalong Bay.

I just wish they were more themed. I stayed at BCV and while I loved the laid back attitude and the boardwalk area, I didn't feel fully immersed, as I have staying in other Disney resorts.

Considering trying the BWV after refurb though, but I think I will still feel the same

The Boardwalk Villas studios are 359 square feet, while the Beach Club Villas studios are 356 square feet. Although the BWV studios are larger than BCV studios, it would be unusual for them to seem so much bigger when the difference is only 3 square feet. I did a split stay between the two resorts once (rolling my suitcase along the Boardwalk-got a few strange looks), and neither studio seemed larger or smaller.

It could have felt smaller in the new BCV studio because of the murphy beds they replaced the couch with, they sit off the wall. Also just the general furniture layout, they don't have the big wall bed with drawers at BWV - just the wall bed with the detached dresser.

We had the complete opposite experience recently. BCV room was glorious and updated with a huge balcony. The only issue was someone had shoved the coffee maker under the shelf in the kitchen and it wouldn’t come out 🤨

BWV room was damp and the bathroom door frame was surrounded by black mold. 🫣 We were on the first floor so we shared a patio with our neighbors (which was fine, we never saw them). I love BW but I dont Think I will stay there again until the refurb is over.

I agree, the size difference between the two seemed significant. We didn’t care for BCV at all, aside from the pool. We did enjoy the convenience to the marketplace at Yacht Club )DW and I were obsessed with the Cuban sandwich there during our last trip!), but the walk from BWV wasn’t much longer to be honest.

I agree!! We thought our bcv studio was smaller than our bwv studio. We do prefer bcv bc it’s quieter and homier (to us). We also enjoy the pool, but even more so the 2 lounges on the first floor (one with the tv and the other on the way to quiet pool). So many sitting areas- much more relaxing than bwv.
