Hi there...we will be staying 1st TIME at BCV in a Studio from July 22-28th. My family is 4 total, me, DH and 2 DS (ages 12 & 7)...the only request I have so far is Non smoking as my 7yr. is asthma so need to make sure that we have non smoking.

Any other suggestions....I know it is not guaranteed but looking for opinions.....

We plan on spending lots of time in the parks...with mid day breaks for rest ans swimming...we will be on the DDP....thanks!!!

Smoking Optional rooms are located on the fourth floor. So stay off the fourth floor. Don't request a specific room anyway.

But not all the rooms on the fourth floor are smoking optional. I thought they were and was concerned when I was assigned to a fourth floor room. Fortunately, I never smelled any smoke, even in the hallways.
"Best" location varies. I love the woods views inside the horseshoe (if you know what I mean). Some people love the Epcot view, but I get too distracted by the road noise. With the woods view, I can hear the Epcot music and watch the birds (including the resident Cooper's Hawk).

And I had a really nice view of Illuminations at night:

I wouldn't get very concerned. Request non-smoking for medical reasons and then go with the flow. We arguably had two of the worst studios one could probably get location wise at BCV (ground floor end of the hall abutting the service road) and they were still quite nice and just fine. If you make requests and don't get them (beyond non-smoking) you risk being somehow disappointed. If you don't make any requests beyond the non-smoking you will have that additional excitement as part of the trip and almost certainly find that you will get a perfectly nice studio as BCV is quite a nice resort!

My best studio stay was, I believe, studio 461. It was right across the hall from the pool elevator, so getting to the buses was super simple. It had a HUGE balcony that wrapped around the corner of the building (there is a emergency stairway on one side of this studio) and I had a great view of the fireworks.
