Studio vs 1 Bedroom Villa

My DS is starting to lose the nap. So, by the time we go I'm sure he won't be napping.

I've seen some backsliding on the napping after a half day on their feet in the parks. Not just for the kids but for me :rotfl:

However we've never been able to use the room "only to sleep." That's what I use to do when we stayed in motels off site with no money. Part of the fun staying Deluxe is relaxing in a nice suite not having to use the room just to crash.

We (DW, DD5, and I) have stayed in studios our last two trips...partially as an experiment, partly to save points. One was at OKW for 4 nights; the other was BCV for 5 nights.

We were okay in the OKW studio, but we didn't like the BCV studio. It was smaller and the sleeper sofa (one of the new ones) did not begin to compare with a queen bed at OKW. We won't stay in any studios other than OKW again.

And I certainly would NEVER stay in a studio longer than 5 days. No way!

I would split the stay if its a points issue. Stay maybe 3 nights in the studio...then when you are on the verge of choking one another :duck:....move for your remaining nights to a 1 bedroom villa. Then you can more space...do laundry...and by then...you will definitely be ready to spread out!

just an FYI... I have 2 remaining teens at home that go to WDW with us. We do ok in a room for about 2-3 nights, then we are ready to choke each other....:scared: By the time we get to our 2 bedroom...we will all breath a sigh of relief.....:dance3:

just my 2 cents...

Ain't it the truth.

We always stay in a studio.

It's me, DH, DD13, & DS9.
If we didn't go with a studio...we wouldn't be able to take all the trips we've taken:

May 2007 - SSR 7 nights
Summer 2007 - BCV 6 nights
X-mas 2007 - AKV 6 nights
Summer 2008 - BCV 7 nights

All of that within 14 months of each other...we'd NEVER be able to do that with a 1 Bedroom.

We always do the Dining Plan, so we never eat as much as even a cookie in the room...so we don't miss a larger kitchen area.

We also love to hang out at our resort, but not IN our room...so we don't really need more space.

It works out great for us.

I like the idea of splitting the stay. We usually split the stay between VWL and BCV. I think maybe 5 nights in a studio at VWL and 4 nights at BCV in a 1 bedroom. We'll use all our points but I think it's a good compromise. My DH still wants to do studio for 10 nights and save some points. We still have some time to decide. Thanks for all the advice/opinions.
