Studio Parade

Just seen the new Studio parade. A sorry replacement for Block Party Bash.

Not sure why Disney decided to replace BPB - it was their most high energy parade and put life into the park. Didn't seem as if anyone was happy or enthusiastic with this new 3 PM parade. Seems as if good parades (remember the TON?) never last long.

I haven't seen it in person. . .was planning to in 22 days but I just watched a quality video on You Tube. . .it's pretty disappointing. I am like new things but this was pretty bad!

It was so bad, I got home and started pricing airfares to California so I can see the Play Parade.

Maybe thats what they were trying to accomplish.

WOW, I can't believe it is getting such horrendous reviews! I'll have to watch the video. I really didn't like BPB though...like...didn't like it at all.

I was there today to see the parade and was disappointed with it. It was too short and there were not enough characters. I was hoping for new floats and more characters. Hopefully they'll do something to make it better.

I'm going to have to sit through it since it's the only place we'll see the UP characters! Two years ago when we went, they were there but he wasn't into UP. When we went in August (after his obsession with UP started) they were gone for Lotso.

I just watch the video and I add my voice to yours: it looks boring and disappointing. And it's a shame to see the same costumes and accessories than those used in BPB.

Please, Disney, bring back BPB!

We were there for it today too. I am surprised that it was so short. I was surprised that there were not any Cars characters in it. I thought the parade itself was good (not great, but decent), but it really needed to be longer.

That's pretty bad, but so was Block Party Bash.

They should bring back the Stars & Cars Motor parade, that was good.

I'm going to be a defender of this little Pixar Parade at the Studios. There have been 11 Disney/Pixar collaborations, of which three are Toy Story movies. Going through the parade, they represented 8 of the 11 movies. The three that were left out were Finding Nemo, Wall-E, and Cars. None of those 3 movies have walk around characters that you can meet and greet - unless you count the McQueen and Mater cars.

It would have been nice if the Cars were in the parade - and maybe they were just malfunctioning or something that day. Isn't the parade in kind of a soft opening phase right now? I'm not completely up to date its scheduled opening, but that is the impression I have. I do think it could be better but it doesn't come close to the worst thing I've seen - and they included quite a lot of Pixar characters, but yes, there could be more. I don't particuarly like that they re-purposed a lot of the BPB stuff, simply because I *hated* that parade with a passion!

I agree with palmtreegirl - Stars and Motorcars was far superior to anything they've tried to roll out since then!

So glad I watched the video! I had just been talking to my dh about trying to fit it in...we will be at DHS half a day. Now we definitely will not bother. Not super awful (in my eyes), but simply a moving BPB

I WAS concerned about finding time to see this parade too- we are never at HS that late. No need to worry about it now- that was pretty bad.

Well Disney did finally succeed in one thing today. They have gotten people to look back at the BPB Parade with a longing fondness.

WOW! Less than 7 minutes???!! Really? Has there ever been a parade that short before? Even the Celebrate It parade lasts longer than that. I only saw 4 Toy Story characters - Jessie - Bullseye - Woody and Lotso. Did I miss Buzz? The green army men? BoPeep? It all seemed soooo sparse. I am so disappointed - was expecting them to present something along the lines of Stars and Cars - which we loved (and miss).
If they can't come up with enough Pixar characters to fill out a parade, why not add in some of the disney classics dressed in their new HS costumes?
I hope they improve this before our summer trip, or we will definitely not be sitting in the heat for THIS.

My daughter and I saw it today too and when it was over she looked at me and said "that was it"? It was just so boring! I liked seeing the Ratatioui (sp?) and UP floats but otherwise, it was the same thing over and over again.

I never saw Block Party Bash, but this one looks fine to me.
