Our two oldest DSs and one friend are using a WVL studio next week (our h.s. grad. gift to DS and his friend). Can anyone tell me whether or not the fridge has a freezer and if so how big it is? The boys would like to freeze bottles of water to carry into the parks, but I'm not sure this will be feasible.

TIA...

Here's what the studio refrig looks like in the studio at Vero Beach...maybe it's the same.

The freezer holds a couple of ice cube trays and not much more. If you take the trays out you can put a couple of small bottles in there, thats about it. We had to finish a gal. of ice cream the first night because it would'nt fit.

Tom's picture looks like what I remember the ones at OKW and BW, so maybe they are all pretty much the same. You would be able to fit a couple of water bottles in sideways (especially if they take out the ice cube trays). I have heard of people getting half gallon containers of ice cream in them, but they don't keep it very firm.

.... and you get the BEST answers! Tom, your picture put everything right into perspective. Thanks so much. Looks like maybe they'll need some wide-mouthed water bottles they can just fill with ice. Thanks, everyone!

The freezer section held bottles of water just fine for me. I don't generally use anything more than a 12 ounce bottle, but the freezer runs across the width of the frdige as shown in the picture. Sometimes it is just a small cube in the corner, but this one is larger. It was bigger than I expected, but as mentioned, not large enough to hold 1.2 gal of ice cream.

The picture above is just like the one in our studio in early april at OKW.

You mentioned using wide mouth bottles and putting ice in them. I usually take Tropicana Twister, those 10-12 oz. bottles have large openings, when juice is consumed I use them for water and ice. Just remember that there is not an ice machine in the buildings, they will have to go to the pool area for ice. At least that was the case with our building around on Miller Pond Road.

Be sure to leave some air in the bottle so expansion doesn't break the bottle.

(Been there, done that)
