Studio Fridge

Are the studio fridges the same ones as the fridges they use at the moderates?
We are staying in a Lakeview studio at BLT next month and I am wondering if the little fridge has a freezer that will actually freeze anything.

We have never stayed DVC as we are new owners, but the fridges they use at the MODS and values fit the 1/2 gallon no problem. it fit on the door of the fridge. So I am assuming the ones in the studios are at least the same.

Thank you! I was hoping that was the case - we're doing a studio for our next trip and we're planning on doing cereal, etc. for breakfast in the room most days

The fridges will fit a gallow or a half gallow- which size fits better depends on what else you want to have in there. The fridges in the studios we have stayed in (OKW, BLT, SSR, AKL) are a little larger than the ones at the moderates the last time we stayed in one (about 3 years ago). They have a small freezer section that will keep something frozen and I think it will at least somewhat freeze about 2 water bottles overnight. We can put 2 of the breakfast bowls in the freezer along with a small ziplock bag of sausage patties in the freezer section. We can fit between 6-8 water bottles/soda cans in the door of the fridge- some of them have a wine bottle type holder that means it fits less of the other containers on the door.

Thanks! I like to get my kids the uncrustables but they need to stay frozen or they go all dry.

The studio refrigerators are undercounter refrigerators so they are bigger than the ones in the Moderate and Deluxe resorts. They have a shelf inside, so two levels of storage. The freezer section is not very tall, about the height of an ice cube tray (you will have at least one of them, maybe two).

Mine has always been able to freeze two trays of ice at AKV overnight.

Ive found the fridges in the studios dont really keep stuff frozen, it takes a few days to freeze water. Athough ours at ssr last fall did freeze stuff.

And the one I had at AKV-Jambo (in a value studio) didn't even have a freezer section, so I had to go to the ice machine-just like in the "old", pre-DVC days.

Make sure when you first get to your room that you check to see if your refridgerator is even on. On our last trip we got there and then ran to the parks and when we returned we found that some one had turned if off and so it took about a day or two to really get cold to keep stuff.

We've stayed at AKV in a value a few times and had a freezer. It there one lucky room with no freezer? I'd be unhappy with no freezer. We always freeze water bottles (Takes overnight to freeze) to the parks with us.

I THINK it was #5012. And it was 5/2010, so maybe they figured out a way to get one with a freezer in now. However, maintenance came while I was there, and a regular studio refrigerator with a freezer was about 1" too tall. However, I've stayed in about 5 other value studios, and all those others had freezer sections like a "regular" studio.
