Studio for 10 days - Are we nuts?

We stayed in one bedroom once and while it was great we only did it that one time. We always do studios to get more time there.
Enjoy!

2 weeks in an OKW studio 2 adults 1 big teen 1 tween- it's like a hotel room, slightly bigger,we have a porch, and a small kitchen area for b-fast and coffee....we had a BLAST! I did laundry when the kid was swimming.....no problems!
I prefer to eat only quick meals and drinks in the room anyway....it's a vacation!

2 adults and a toddler in a BCV studio for 10 nights-------You have got it made, NO problem!!!
I remember our 1st trip to WDW with kids and prior to DVC ownership--we stayed at FW in a camper and had the BEST time!!!!!!

We always came for a month in a two bedroom - it was wonderful. But, I became very spoiled and wanted to stay longer - so we tried a studio and I loved it. There are only two of us - and it works out great - also we are at OKW where the rooms are much bigger. When my daughter comes she gets own studio. Hang on - we are there two weeks in October or November - and four weeks in March-April. I love my six weeks in the studio and my daughter loves hers. So we traded - four weeks in a two bedroom for 12 weeks in studio's - a very good trade. And I also love doing laundry at the pool - everything is done in an hour! Perfect!! And we also use the grills a lot at the pools - - nope, we have a perfect set-up.

Amen, you will - - - - we didn't do any of this until we were done with college!!!

But, remember - the children still keep coming after college - they multiply - friends - husbands, grandchildren, etc. etc. etc. At one time we had guests in both bedrooms - I was on the couch and my husband in the car sleeping - - - - - - - that's when we went to a studio! They can all come and stay in their own studio and I am in mine - and I don't share my key with anyone!!

There are advantages to not moving in the middle of a stay but if there are vacancies and you have the points there should be absolutely no problem. I have done this before just because i wanted to sample the various resorts.

DW and I stay in studios for 30 or more days in late winter, Feb-March at SSR and VB. It works for us.:goodvibes

I think it would be doable for me more in the DVCs that have a laundry right by the pool. SSR and OKW...to a lesser degree BWV may be OK for me. Since we prefer the SSR studio set up, that's where I would most likely try it out.

I'm here now in Jambo House in a studio at concierge level. We started our trip with 4 nights at BCV and 3 at BLT, followed by 11 here at AKV. I have 2 teenagers and DH. A studio works fine for us - I refuse to spend the extra points for a one bedroom, at least at this time. Sure, I miss the convenience of a W/D but I have pretty much had the DVC laundry to myself here at Jambo House. BLT on the other hand has one tiny laundry for the entire building!

DS15 lives on the balcony no matter where we are and we consider it an outdoor room. I'm usually at the desk on the laptop and DH is stretched out on the bed while DD14 is on the sofa.

We will be at WDW for 12 days next May: 5 nights at AKV and 7 nights at OKW. For the AKV stay it will just be myself and my 21 year old DD. My 23 year old DS(The Disney fanatic) will be joining us either at the end of our AKV stay or when we check into OKW. The whole 12 days will be in studios.

I never cook while on vacation, it is my one rule while on any vacation!!!.:rotfl: The most I might use in the kitchen is a microwave and even that is iffy so a kitchen is a non issue for us. The only must for us is the fridge!!

On our last 2 week trip my family of 4 stayed in a 2 bedroom in BLT and BCV. It was DS college graduation so I thought we would splurge!! It was beautiful but just sooo much space that we didn't need. A 1 bedroom would have been fine for us but atleast I can say that I stayed in a 2 bedroom.

The only issue with being in a studio is the laundry as the convenience of the W/D is great especially when you get stuck in a rainstorm but when in staying a studio I can just hang out at the pool and do laundry if need be, no big deal!!

I think the only time I will probably ask for a 1 bedroom is if my DH ever joins us on a future trip and their is a need for more privacy but at this time studios work great for us and gives me more points to play with!!:cool1:

I am sure my room needs will change as the family grows in the future but for right now, I am happy doing 12 days in a studio. It gives me more days at WDW and that's what matters to me. :)
