Studio 1 - keep it open in the evening?

I'm a huge fan of Studio 1 in Disney Studios and I was thinking yesterday how great it would be to keep it open longer than Disney Studios and into the evening to offer another area for visitors to spend their evenings when the park closes early.

They could lock the doors that lead out into the main Studios park and then you'd have a wonderfully themed area of bars, restaurants and shops. You'd also have the courtyard area before you get to Studio 1 which has more shops and could be filled with stalls and entertainment of an evening time.

For DLRP it gives another evening time revenue stream and for us it gives an alternative venue for evening entertaining. Imagine how cosy it would be to be drinking and eating in one of the Studio 1 bars on a cold winter evening, especially with Christmas theming!

Fantasic idea, probably one of the best I've heard in a long time.

From a Disney point of view it would take minimal staffing (and therefore cost) to ru this, and if the entertainment etc was good it'd get good crowds.

I think it would be a really nice way to spend an evening.

Thumbs up from me Steve! Shall we start a petition? ;)

Brilliant idea Steve - I LOVE Studio 1 and it would be great in the evening, and it's so close to the Village you could wander between the two!

I do think they could keep the Studios Park open later. It is a more 'grown up' park than the main one so a lot of us 'oldies' could enjoy it later into the evening.

Personally I do still prefer the main park - I found the endless queueing for everything when I was there to be a real bore. I think I stood 20 mins each for Cinemagique and Animagique and then a good 3/4 for the Stunt Show and still ended up right on the very back seats at the top of the stadium. Plus the timing of that particular stunt show meant that we all poured out right into the back of those waiting for the parade and consequently missed that too coz we couldn't see.

It could do with a little more organisation although I won't say I didn't enjoy the park at all.

I think that's a great idea for those of us with older children or adults - it would be nice to have a greater choice of evening venues. :earsgirl:

i thought that was a wicked idea, really clever.shame the people in charge dont have more ideas like that.you tried emailing it to them or anything, see how receptive they are to it?

Wow!! We have been 4 times to DLP and each time the Studios has been absolutely deserted. It's probably because we have always gone in May or early-mid June!!

I definately agree, and especially once the get the Tower of Terror in there i'm sure it would draw in a lot more of the late teens and upwards who have a larger disposable income.

I think that would be a brilliant idea. Disney are missing a trick yet again! It might be worth starting one of those online petitions, y'know... I'm sure they must amount to something sometimes, and anyway, what have you got to lose?! I've seen petitions for all sorts - one that springs to mind was for Fraggle Rock to be brought out on DVD - and it was!

We saw lots of people coming out of the Studios one night. We had been to Buffalo Bills and after doing some shopping in the Village were just buying some of those yummy chocolate strawberries from the Christmas Market when we saw all these people leaving. We just presumed it had been a private party.
I must admit we did find it very difficult with the park shutting at 8pm and everybody converging in the Village, those 3 extra hours in the summer are invaluable.

During the winter opening times, with Disneyland closing at 8 pm, I would also like they kept DL's restaurants (especially Walt's and Auberge de Cendrillon) open, so you could eat there. Those are two of the nicest restaurants in the resort, but I find it quite impossible to eat there in teh winter time. We never have lunch when being at Disney, and eating dinner at 6 pm or so is just too early + you miss Fantillusion and thuslike. Keeping those two open would involve the same as opening the park earlier for Good Morning Fantasyland. They don't have to have rides running, nor have stores open. Just open the restaurants. And if they don't want people strowling through the park, then just use the Main Street vehicles as shuttles to the gates.
