Stuck on Splash, Swimming in Sewage, & Still Laughing! A "Classy" 6/11 TR- 5/6 DONE!

That's awesome you guys got seats at the Plaza. The food looks delicious! I'm not a huge Steak & Cheese fan like you, they are tasty, but it just never totally works as something to fill you up. Maybe if I book ADRs at the Plaza, that will change :thumbsup2 LOL @ your awkward moments, I could totally relate, but rather not go into that (THE EMBARRASSMENT!) Oh and your desserts look delicious.... mmmm.... I guess I need a fourth ice cream today, I'm on a major Ice Cream high tonight lol

Oh I love the PeopleMover, such a fun ride! I wish though they had the cheesy, original recording I've heard many people talk about. I never even listen to the one right now because it has nothing of interest and I just lay back until we get into Space Mountain, then I hope the lights are on haha.

Oh my gosh! That is... just too funny, priceless, especially the way you describe it :lmao: Like I would love to be stuck on Splash, but I think hearing that announcement so many times and being in the same spot for an hour, not allowed to get out (or able to get out) is pretty irritating. I can only imagine what John was saying under his breath O_o Brer Fox and Brer Bear cause ENOUGH trouble, but at least you got the FPs and got to finish your ride. (:

Can't wait to read more! :mickeyjum

Subscribing! This is a great report, can't wait to read more. I am a huge Harry Potter fan, but I think I would also be sad at IoA, knowing that I wasn't at WDW!

I'm late tagging along, but just caught up. I love reading TR's about other military families, and you basically confirmed my December woes about using multiple military promo tickets in a row. Keep the updates coming! :cool1:

Wow! I was off line for a week because I have been so busy at work and it has taken me forever to get caught up :rotfl:

Good for you speaking up with the appropriate kids -height and authority are unrelated :) I am a 5'3" Dean of Students - it is all in how you approach the situation!

Love the first stroll down main street each trip --- such a peaceful joyful feeling

I do hate it when a ride gets stuck -- I know exactly the "commotion" announcement you are talking about -- definately gets old FAST.

Sorry you missed the parade --but I always take things like that as a reason to plan another trip soon :) Enjoy the planning for December.

Good luck with the move -- can't wait to hear all about it.

Our last trip, we did 10 days at Disney and then finished with 3 days at Universal... And I had the Disney blues the whole time! I was so gloomy! My poor husband... "The bathrooms at Disney are so much better", can we go back? "The food at Disney was better than this." "The weather at Disney was better, I miss it." Seriously, I said that about the weather...! The good thing is, you did Universal first - that way you had Disney to look forward to, it wasn't a big let down! If we go back again, it will for sure have to come before the Disney magic!!

Ok, I definitely laughed out loud at your Splash update! We always seemed to get stopped on that attraction, but of course it's only for a minute or two. I can't imagine being stuck for 30 minutes! We always get stuck somewhere where the air is blasting full force. :lmao: And that brer fox and brer bear line does get so old and irritating after a while!

Yay for another trip!!! Can't wait to hear all about the details! :goodvibes

Yay you got into Plaza!!! :cool1: I'm glad you both enjoyed your meal and I laughed out loud at your encounter with the striped shirt lady!

Oh no on getting stuck on Splash - I hope you got to ride it again. I actually persuaded Zaheer onto this ride and if it had got stuck with him on it he would have freaked out!!

YAY for your new trip!

Haha, I think that incident with the girl in the striped shirt at The Plaza Restaurant was very entertaining! When I take pictures of random things, I do have people look at me, but then they usually notice that I start taking pictures of everything else around me so it wasn't just because of them!

Oh man, I would HATE to be trapped where you were on Splash Mountain! I don't like that double dip one (unless I'm remembering the spot incorrectly), and it would make me nervous just waiting there! It would've been interesting to see what pictures we would've been able to take while the boat was still though! How did the boat stop in that place? I'm curious to know because typically it just moves along with the current of the water.

Hi everyone! I just wanted to post a quick update and let you all know I'm still alive!

It's been a crazy month! We finally moved into our house on September 23rd and since then it's just been a whirlwind of trying to get things set up, having new things delivered, and trying to maintain some order in the chaos. We are finally almost comfortable, so I'm hoping to get back into my usual routine soon. Then I will post pictures, too! ;)

John still hasn't deployed, but he should be on his way by the 18th. Right now he is enjoying a little more time at home, although at this very minute he has food poisoning so he's not enjoying anything very much.

On top of all the new house/preparing for deployment craziness I have been trying to keep my head above water at work, which isn't really working out. I feel like I'm drowning in papers to grade and lessons to plan! I have been so overwhelmed lately. Last week I had a mini emotional breakdown in front of some of my students. They are such sweethearts, and since then they have taken it upon themselves to make my life easier. They bought me a card and had the whole school sign it, they brought me flowers, and they even bought me a big case of my all time favorite- Diet Dr. Pepper. Knowing that these crazy kids cared so much about me really put things back into perspective. Cheesy as it sounds, I remembered that it's totally worth it and now I'm diving into those ungraded papers head first!

With all of this insanity going on I haven't even been able to think about our December trip. The good side of that is it's only 2 1/2 months away! :thumbsup2

I am hoping to be back Wednesday to catch up on some TRs and hopefully post an update. Please bear with me while I get things in order!

I miss you all and can't wait to read about all of your adventures! :grouphug:

Joni

Joni it's so nice to hear from you  I'm glad you're still alive!!
Congrats on moving into your house! That's a HUGE accomplishment! Can't wait to see pictures!
Aww I'm sad John has to go on the 18th :( And that he has food poisoning! Hopefully that goes away really soon!
I'm sorry school is super stressful, but your students sound ADORABLE! That's so nice! :) Aww I would have totally done something for my teacher like that when I was little. How cute! That makes it worth it.
And hey hey our December trips are very soon! I only have 72 days to go! So you only have a few more than that woohoo!
Take your time! I'm glad things are going pretty good! :goodvibes

Aww Joni it's okay!! Take all the time you need hun!

So sorry that John has food poisoning! That's awful. :( Hopefully with the kids' support you can have some time to spend with him before he leaves. :goodvibes

Just remember that you'll be in Disney before you know it! :wizard:

Take all the time you need. The TR will definitely still be here once the rest of your life calms down. I hope John feels better and that you are able to spend a lot of time with him before he leaves. :)

That's great how your students responded to you being stressed.

Hi Joni! It's so nice to hear from you

:woohoo: on moving into the new house - can't wait to see the pics.

Oh no at John having food poisoning and being deployed soon :sad2:

Aaw that is so sweet of your students to do that for you - it shows they really care. I'm glad that cheered you up and you are feeling better about grading papers

We'll all still be here so take your time. Hope both you and John are feeling better :goodvibes

Congrats on the house!!! :goodvibes I'm sorry to hear that things have been stressful for your lately, it's wonderful, though, to see the care and concern from your students! :lovestruc

Looking forward to another update... but don't feel rushed, we'll be here!!! :goodvibes

Congrats on your house!! I hope John's feeling better. You must have the sweetest students in the world.

Just thought I'd let you know that I quoted you the whole time we were at WDW--even my husband knows who you are now because of it! I also had to quote you in my TR because it became part of our trip!! You take your time with posting. We love your shenanigans and will be here!

Students like that make teaching worthwhile! Hope you're feeling less stressed as each day goes by!

YAY YOU'RE ALIVE! :teeth: Glad to know you're still here, Joni!

Glad to hear you've moved into your house (: I can't wait to see pictures once all the chaos is over with :thumbsup2

Uggghhh... food poisoning, that stinks, hope he gets better soon to enjoy some more time with you (:

Awwwww... I'm sorry to hear about your stress in school. It amazes me how my teachers manage to keep it together when I hear stuff like this from all the DISTeachers. That was so nice of your students to make you a card and everything. You must be a really awesome teacher for them to do something like that for you. Can you come to my school to bring your epic English-teaching skills here? :goodvibes

WOOT TWO MONTHS! So jealous... But I can't wait to read about that trip :) And I can't wait to read your next update for this! Update soon! :mickeyjum

I'm sorry to hear you are so stressed and busy right now!! But at least things are settling down! Congrats on the house!!!

You must be an amazing teacher to have your students do that for you! There are not too many teachers of mine that I remember liking enough to do that! :lmao: I'm sorry you've been feeling overwhelmed. It sounds like you have tons of stuff on your plate right now. Yay on getting moved in to the house, though! Can't wait to see it! :goodvibes
