On our last trip at the end of June it seemed like we kept getting stuck on rides.
Our first full day there, Space Mountian was closed at opening so we went over to Indiana Jones to get FPs. When we came back later to ride we got as far as the idol, when the Jeep stopped. We sat for a few minutes and then the lights came on. And so, of course, my camera came out.
Here is the view we had from the Jeep. Notice the exit signs next to the idol.
This is what it looked like next to us. I had time to look at how they black out or highlight whatever "path" you choose.
After about 5 minutes, CM came over to our Jeep with a step ladder. We all climbed out of the car one row at a time. We were the only ones to walk out of ride and it seemed to be our car that caused the ride to be stuck. We were told to line up against the wall. Then she led us out. It was a short walk. I wish I could have seen what it looked like in the big room! This is above us as we exited the ride, so it would be behind the jeep.
We are now back at the loading area waiting to ride again. It was about another 10 min waiting there. Keep in mind, everyone else is still stuck on the ride. Here the CM is fixing the Jeep that was behind us.
I took other pics but some didn't come out very clear.
As the week went on, Space Mountain was down half the time we checked on it. Later in the week we were on the ride and I hear that familar voice saying "Attention space travelers...". You know, that voice you hear when you stand in line that lets you know you will be wasting a lot more time in line. I could only hear it sometimes, as the ride continued. But I figured it probably wasn't a good sign.
I was praying we would be able to finish the ride and just near the end we suddenly stopped. At this point I was now praying that ALL the cars stopped and not just ours.
A few seconds later the lights came on, my camera came out, and I have to say how shocked I was. Did you know there is no "space" in Space Mountian?
I'm not sure what I thought it would be, but I thought we were high up and I thought the tracks would look more circular. Here are some pics. Don't look if you don't want to destroy the illusion.
Here are two tracks criss crossing over us. It was very strange to see cars all around us at different angles.
This is right next to our car. We stopped in Zone 12. There is a walkway right next to us. I had thought we would be way up high like Mullholland Madness, but there were walkways all over in there.
This is pic of a car across from us. You can see a CM over there next to it. They went around to each car.
When they got to our car, they flipped some switches in the box, then said they were going to push us back. They held on to the car, started running, and shoved us off. The end tunnel was turned off so it just looked like some rectangles scattered around in there. We got back to the station and stayed on to go again. In a few minutes we were off and made it through.
We still had one more set of FPs for SM so we tried again later. After we gave our FPs, we heard that same familar voice-again! Then a CM got on the speaker and said we could wait in line or use an exit. Well, we had enough of waiting for SM so we tried a door marked exit. It wouldn't open! We decided to make our way back through the line to leave. Other people back there didn't know it broke down so we told them as we left.
At that point we decided we had enough space travel for one trip and didn't try it again. Whew!
