Stuck on a ride for 90 Minutes

Got stuck on GRR for about 30 minutes last summer. Mid afternoon, 90+ degrees and it was right before you get in the water. We had a single rider with us (a 7 year old boy.) It was miserable with no water to splash on ourselves before we got to walk off the ride.

We got stopped on GRR on Sunday...twice. The ride broke down while we were on line a couple times briefly making for a really long wait. Once we were on our raft we got stopped at the top of the first drop for 10 min, then again at the second drop before continuing. It was so hot and sunny this weekend, I'm glad they were short breaks. We encountered multiple break downs last week.

I was once stuck for 45 min in the dinosaur room of Ellen's Energy adventure at Epcot, it was dark, but we could hear the dinosaurs since they kept moving the whole time - totally creepy. We were eventually evacuated.

I've never gotten an FP or anything else, but neither experience was too bad.

Probably for me, Haunted Mansion (the ballroom scene or graveyard scene, definitely!), Indy, RSR, Monsters Inc., POTC, BTMRR, Jungle Cruise, or Toy Story Midway Mania.

There are also plenty of rides I wouldn't want to be stuck on -- at all. But I'm worried if I type out the names of those attractions, I'll jinx myself and end up stuck on one of those very rides for 90 minutes during my next visit. I seem to have that kind of luck. :lmao:

We were stuck on POTC once for about 30 minutes in the scene with the burnt embers near the end.

I feel like that would be the most irritating scene to get stuck at in POTC. I've been stalled in that area a few times for a couple of minutes, nothing too long, and I found myself getting antsy right away. There's not that much to look at and it gets old fast. :crazy2:

I think I would go suicidal on IASW. I can't even make it through the whole ride without covering my ears and humming a different tune.

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

I would be homicidal on IASW.

Gotta admit, I think I would too. I sympathize with anyone stalled on that ride for longer than five minutes. :scared1:

10 years ago, right before it went down for awhile for refurb, we got stuck on Pirates for almost 2 hours...and despite turning the lights on, they did NOT ever turn off the music. LOL It was crazy!! We were right under the pirate on the bridge with the dangling foot. I think it must've been down before we got on or just not busy because there was no one in the boats in front of us. We were the last boat evacuated, they had guys in those water pants pushing us to a section to climb out. We were WAY backstage when we climbed out, we went through a cast member breakroom and had security guards directing us where to go. We ended up coming out by the bathrooms in NOS and were given front of the line passes that we didn't end up using because it was the end of the night by the time we got off. LOL

Then a few years later, we got stuck for about 35 mins on IJ...LOL We got stuck in the room with the skeletons. There was a lady in our car that was FREAKING OUT!! LOL She kept trying to climb out when the cast members were asking us to remain seated and then started yelling at them when they weren't coming fast enough with a ladder. It was pretty cool walking out of there.

Both times we were celebrating our daughters birthday so its been a joke now that we will get stuck if we go on her bday! LOL

And then without warning you do drop and you don't know if they got it running again or it actually broke for real..... But you wouldn't have long to wonder at least. Man, now I'm gonna look up and see if that ride ever did break down....

I have actually been on it when it broke down! I totally forgot about it. The ride went as normal, all the drops and what not. The crash sound happens and then nothing. We got stuck for like 5 minutes maybe sitting at the bottom. It was horrible! No air conditioning and no breeze so it was hot. Plus there is a really creepy doll that is sitting on the side. Finally we moved and the doors opened and the CMs acted like nothing happened.

I vote for Astroblasters also. I racked up about 1.5M points that way, but my fingers kinda hurt after that. I should go dig up that photo to remind me what my score was :rotfl:

The longest we've been stuck was about 40 minutes on Screamin. Don't think 2 hours anywhere would be enjoyable... Maybe Tom Sawyer's Island, but that's not a ride ;)

I also enjoy being stuck (for a short while) on AstroBlasters, as long as I am where I can shoot targets.

I once saw people being evacuated from Screamin, and having to climb down from the top. I don't ride Screamin.

Autopia? Couldn't a person just exit and walk out if worse came to worst? It FREAKS me out as I am terrified of insects that fly, such as bees, wasps, etc. and I don't feel 'safe' in the car for very long, so I appreciate seeing others, Like you guys... DISboard members. :goodvibes

California Screaming would be the WORST I think, as you don't know when you will get out. (Or how...)

OK< I edited this, as this was not the question... Splash Mountain is my favorite ride, but.... might not be fun to be stuck there. I guess Haunted Mansion or Ariel's ride is my pick... because you can walk right out. That being said, I often visualize what POTC would look like, etc., and how to get out - but - it's pretty freaky overall. The animatronics are pretty realistic.

Even if you can walk out you still need to wait for the CMs to give the ok.

Stuck on roger rabbit once. Second car from the exit door. Had to wait. We were second to the last car cleared to leave the vehicles.

That would be kinda creepy... But at least the ride was over and stuff.
I actually did look up how the ride works, and it's one of the safest in the park, coincidentally.
I haven't heard of ToT breaking down much though... That's weird that they acted like nothing had happened. No voices or anything telling you to remain seated or anything... That's kind of creepy. I'd be like, oh no, guys, we're stuck in the Twilight Zone...

I have to share. Last week we were waiting to go on Splash and were about 3 logs away from boarding and the ride shut down, like completely shut down. All logs had to be evacuated. I was so close to getting walked off a ride!! Total Disney-nerd disappointment there!
