Strongest evidence yet against spanking

The only reason I put a link to that website was because people were attempting to justify spanking by stating that "the Bible says you should spare the rod".

My point was that you can use the Bible to justify almost anything...claiming that spanking is ok because the "Bible says so" seems silly.

So does using religion to paint it as morally wrong.

The action of spanking is morally wrong, own its on merits. Putting religion aside completely... it is still wrong. The only reason I even brought religion up is that so many people use it a tool to justify hitting children.

I think those three funders should eliminate the issue of bias in the study. I don't see a funder here with an agenda, either pro- or anti-spanking.

BTW, your posts on child immunizations were extremely helpful to our family. You're certainly a great advocate on that topic!

for the record, agendas work both ways. I am sure there was a "study" that said it was good to give our troops Meth, too. funding goes to agendas that prove themselves, and make room for more funding.

Great. This is now religious AND political. I may be wrong (and OP forgive me if I am) but I don't recall the OP being liberal from back when we were permitted to discuss politics. Plus, I know plenty of liberals who spank their kids.

technically, the govt. invented meth to give the troops to keep them alert. I slightly mistated. I apologize. i am doing too many things at once. that may have been the german army, lol.

It was the gremans. The american army didn't use meth, but did gspecial ops soldiers uppers to keep them awake for several days at a time in the Vietnam era, and for a while after. I am sure soem study said it was a good idea.

Oh my goodness. I don't have dyslexia and I do the same thing all the time!! I guess my fingers aren't as quick as my brain (or maybe it's the other way around...)
