It depends on your child but I would. I am renting one for my 5 yr old. She probably wont be in it all the time but when she needs it, it will be there.
Mom of two here that has done Disney many times since the girls were 11 and 33 months. YES! If your son (hope this is correct) is one tha tires easily and or melts down, definitely. Up until our younger one was able to hold up all day which was around 4 we took one. If nothing else it's great to have to carry all the junk you accumulate during the day/ need with a kid/husband I also recommend one that reclines as opposed to those jog strollers that makes a child sleep slumped over in a heap. HOw comfortable could that be? They are available to rent at the parks, theirs are the jog ones but they are more reclined. I think that if you rent at one park you can turn it in and maybe somehow just take your name tag receipt to another park and get one there but I'm not sure.
The thing to me about strollers is that you might not need one at home, but a tired 3 1/2 year old will simply not have a good time and will spoil everyone else's good time. We have a double unbrella for the boys (just turned 3 and almost 5) and we park it a good bit and walk around small areas of the park (or really congested areas) so they still get in a LOT of walking and have no problem sleeping later.
So my vote is to get one. (or take a small umbrella one which will save you in the long run and which I find to be much easier to manover than those rental ones)
The strollers at WDW don't look like baby strollers. The ones in AK look a little safarish ( I think I made that word up ) so my DS didn't feel babyish. There hard plastic very open in front making it easy for kids to get in & out of. They come in handy to tote packages & backpacks too. I would get one.
Absolutely, positively, without a doubt get a stroller. My DD will be six and she will still have a stroller. She will not be in it all the time but she will have one for when she wants one. Besides her legs are so much shorter than ours she can't keep up with us.
There is just so much walking at the parks that it would not be enjoyable for a little one at all. He would be SOOOOO tired and cranky without one. Definetly worth the money to get one every day!!!!
Just an FYI....over on the Budget Board I run the DIS stroller swap. It's a free stroller exclusivley for DISers. I have lots of open dates since I just started this one..we are on the SS3 and it has run for over 3 years now (new stroller)
Before anyone here suggests it, dont get a Maclaren stroller. Unless you want to pay an arm and a leg for it.
If you just want a simple stroller that wont cost you your next child as payment, go with any Target, Kmart or Walmart. They will have an umbrella stroller that looks just like a larger built stroller. They arent what people normally consider an umbrella stroller. They have a canopy, bag underneath and usually a cup holder near the handlebars. And they usually recline. They will run around $20.00 to $50.00 and up.
You can check this stroller at the boarding ramp for the airplane too. They will keep it near the exit for you when you leave the plane.
This is sometimes cheaper than renting one at the parks. If you stay for 7 days that will cost you about $50 for the week for a single stroller or $100 for the week for a double stroller.
