I have a 16 month old and I was trying to figure out if I should bring my umbrellas stroller or skip it? Any advice?

TIA!

I've seen reviews where many moms recommend it. Carrying a little one all over the ship can get tiring- and likewise a new walker might not have the stamina or balance on a rocking ship to walk long distances.

I'd bring the smallest one you have since you'll have to store it in your stateroom and the elevators and hallways are narrow. When my son was 18 months and we cruised, I found my sling to be perfect for toting him around on board.

I'd bring it... We cruised with our daughter when she was about 14-15 months. The stroller was perfect, because it allowed her to nap/fall asleep in it whether we were on the ship or on the beach in Mexico. They do have strollers on the ship that you can rent/borrow, as well. :)

I would definitely take a stroller. We took an umbrella stroller and found it was helpful around the ship and off the ship. It stored great in the cabin since they take up very little room. We used ours with our 8 month old and will be taking it again this fall when he'll be two.

Yep, take it.

No doubt!!! :)

The umbrella stroller is exactly what you should bring. If you decide that you need a big one for excursions you can borrow it from Guest Services. The ones they have are very clean and in good condition. They put a $200 charge on your KTTW account and remove it when you return the stroller. On Castaway Cay they have wagons that work really well too--they'll hold all your stuff and your little one! Those are free; get them after you are off the ship.

I feel sorry for people who bring big strollers on the ship--they don't fit in the elevators well, etc.

How about for an older toddler (3), who normally never needs a stroller at home? In this scenario did you find it useful for the airport and excursions?

I brought 2 single strollers for my kids who were 1 and 3 at the time. The only time I used both was at Key West when we walked to the pirate museum. It was very hot and easier to keep the kids close by strapped into the stroller. After riding in the plane my three year old didn't want to sit in a stroller so he walked. I primarily used my techno xt on the ship around dinner time. My 1 year old sometimes needed to be walked around and fell asleep during dinner and I was able to park it right next to me in the dining room. (We were lucky that our table placement left enough room for the stroller not to be in the way) When we got to CC, I didn't want sand in my stroller wheels so we walked off the ship and I snagged a wagon which they have for free to borrow. It was quite a walk until we got to the wagon area, just about to the family beach, but I threw the kids and beach bags in and they rode the rest of the way while we found a spot. It is very tricky to get the stroller out of the room while the kid is in it, I recomend setting it up outside before you set your child in it. The doors are soooo heavy and slam shut and it is nearly impossible to turn the stroller around in the room, or hold the door with one hand while pushing over the threshold with the other. Looking back, I wouldn't have bothered with the second stroller because the three year old only used it once and I could have just borrowed a ship stroller for that time. Hope that helps.
