I have yet to get rid of my stroller and my youngest child is almost 7 yrs old. Last year we used it at Disney and it came in handy as DS(5 at the time) got tired very easily. I was actually planning to get rid of the stroller before our trip this year but then I got to thinking it will be good to have the basket in the bottom for our Backpack that i put snacks water and first aid kit in, the cup holder is very handy as well. So even if DS doesn’t ride in the stroller it will be very good to have to hold stuff.
Does Universal and IOA have stroller-parking areas? At Disney we often left our stroller in the parking areas unattended and no one ever bothered it (except one time we parked illegally and got towed :rotfl2: ). Is it safe to do so at Universal as well? We leave nothing of value in the stroller usually only our cups or bottles of water and the backpack with first aid kit (my DD is accident prone and often needs a band aid at the most inopportune times) and snacks. I keep valuables in my Hip pouch/fanny pack thing.

Yes...there are stroller areas and I usually see a TM standing in the area.

Vic, if you want to save a LOT of money, bring your own stroller from home.

stroller rental is not cheap, especially if you rent them for many days.

WOW yea I think I'll bring my with me so i dont have to pay for one when we get tired of lugging the backpack around.
I have a very mild form of Muscular Dystrophy which my DS6 also shows symptoms of. So it's probably best to take a stroller so he can rest if he needs to.

I know exactly where your coming from! I think our kids are done with strollers, but I am NOT!!!

I dont want to carry our cooler around all day, nor the ponchos and other assorted junk. :rotfl2:

Now that I think about it, I think one more trip with the stroller is in order :lmao:

It has been a while since I've been to Universal (I go to Disney every year), but from what I remember I wasn't as tired at the end of the day at Universal. Less walking there, maybe? Or maybe it was because we got a lot more done in less amount of time (FOTL). Not sure, but it wasn't as tiring so you may find you won't need a stroller at Universal.

I can tell you that I hung on to the stroller for quite a while with my kids also. It really surprised me how nice it was when we finally got rid of it. It was a new found freedom! No more parking and having to try and find it when you get out of a ride. No more trying to maneuver around people. No more folding the darn thing up on the busses. No more having to deal with it! I learned to pack a bit lighter (ice water is free - you don't need water bottles) and we just took turns carrying our backpack. Now that I know how much nicer it is not to have to deal with that stroller, I would never use one again unless I had a baby/toddler. Just thought I'd pass this info along. You may find it easier without one also. :goodvibes
