What is the story with the DCL strollers? Do you reserve them? Do you have to store it in your room?

We took our own stroller, the big car seat/stroller combo and it was great! We didn't have any trouble storing it in our room (Cat 7)!

Does anyone know if the ship's strollers are assigned or just around for first come-first served?

...that strollers on board are few and far between. My TA recommended that we bring our own. Since we have a plain ol' umbrella stroller or our big heavy full size, I opted to buy a new one today - Sportster XT from Kolcraft. It's a step up from an umbrella, with a canopy and a basket. It weighs only 11 lbs and
folds very small.

Since we will be in the park 4 days, stroller rental would cost $24.00, plus rental on the ship. The stroller was $30.00, so we should come out ahead!

Hope this helps!

I called DCL a couple of weeks ago to ask about the stroller situation. I have a 15 months old. I was told that the strollers on board are only for "medical situations." Bring your own.!

We just cruised the 7 day cruise on the Magic - the week that there were 1100 children on board. We went to guest services and easly checked out a stroller whenever we wanted to use one. When we were done we took it back to guest services. We did this four times on our cruise. We would walk around the promanade deck or around the ship and then just take it back. No need to store it in our room and take up the space. Our child does not have a "medical need" for a stroller - or was this ever even mentioned. They also have a bunch of stollers on Castaway Cay for use.

I would not take one - just check one out when you need it.

What kind of stroller was it? Is it something you could take off the ship when at the ports? If it's not much better than an umbrella stroller, or you can't take it off the ship, then I'm better off bringing my own.

The strollers on board are the large Graco that lay back and have the basket underneath. The only draw back is that the front wheels are stationary (don't swivel) so going around corners is hard. I took my unbrella stroller then checked out one of theirs when we boarded. The room we were in was at the end of the hall so I was able to leave it outside. When we docked in St. Thomas they had brought alot of the strollers down for people to take off the ship and use without checking them out.
