Is it better to bring our own strollers to Disneyland, or to rent when we get there? We will have a 1-year-old and a 4-year-old. Any advice would be much appreciated. Thank you.
Do you mean Legoland or Disneyland? I suppose for both places it would depend on a few things... Where are you traveling from, how much walking does your 4 y/o do before getting tired, what type of stroller are you thinking of bringing from home, etc...
We brought our own stroller to LL. The rental strollers there were hard plastic car-shaped strollers and didn't look they would be comfy all day. I'm not sure if they had double strollers or not there. The parking lot at LL is close enough to the entrance that you don't need a stroller just to get into the gate like you might need at DLR so you could probably rent one fine there if you didn't want to bother bringing your own. As far as DL strollers go, you can see my response to your DL stroller thread in the DL section.
I (and my kids) personally hate the strollers at both DL and LL. I'd say if you can bring your own, do it. If not, consider renting one from a baby gear rental co. There are a couple of different ones that service the area and often it is cheaper than the cost at theme parks, plus you can take it everywhere then, not just the theme parks (beach, mall, etc).
We were at Legoland last week and did not have a stroller. My 4 yo walked it with no problems. It really is not that big of a park and we spent so much time at/on rides that the walking time was really broken up. We were there from 10-4 or so.
Maybe bring your own for the 1yo and see how the 4yo does.
For Disneyland...definitely get a stroller for each kid. Apparently based on other threads it was just me, but I felt like we did more walking at Disneyland than we did at WDW (because of the whole need to parkhop to avoid crowds midday and to walk through downtown Disney to get to the hotel...the distance from the hotel to the back of either park is a LONG way for a little kid---or from the back of one park to the back of the other--- and you will walk it more than once a day most likely)
