Strollers...I need to get this off my chest

To the OP,

You had the courage to post what many of us think when we see multiple posts about the same thing.

And the stroller question has to be one of the most repeated question on here.

.....it was a little sarcastic...but probably meant in jest.

I personally was rolling when I was reading it!!! :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

WOW! I'm kinda a newbie here...up until today I thought every1 on these boards were really friendly and helpfull. Calm down! We r all posting questions to get other peoples opinions! If you see a stroller post, dont read it, its that simple. Dont attack mothers because they want opinions of others mothers!

The OP already stated she was just being funny. She wasn't attacking anyone.
Ad this is just my opinion, but I think the DIS boards are SUPER friendly compared to other message boards I've been on.

Now lets all sing Kumbaya:flower3: :grouphug: :hippie:

I agree, it was meant to be funny, I suggest taking your own advice, if you see a hilarious stroller post like this one and you think it may offend you, don't read it, I am sure if you look 2 threads down you will see another stroller post that isn't nearly as funny that can answer your question.

This post gave me the best laugh I've had in a long time. I personally thought it was very funny and didn't really see that it would be taken so seriously by anyone.

Heck, I skip all of those stroller threads all the time. I'm not a stroller snob. I had one stroller. I did a small amount of research before buying it. It cost "only" $150. Been using it for 2.5 years. Will likely use it until dd gets a little older. Personally can't justify buying more than one or one that is really expensive but I do understand that there are people who find this very important and do purchase multiples or special ones for special occassions and would like the discussion.

I find them a riot like the original poster and enjoyed the humor.

The OP wasn’t offensive to me. She should talk to her DH about being a little frustrated, but that is none of my business. :flower3: (Tongue in cheek people, it’s a joke)

I DO see how people can be offended by it though. Who the heck cares if there are 3, or 10, stroller questions per page? I use some message boards that never move, and I’d rather see repeat posts every so often than be on top of things by only checking in once every three months!

Besides, it’s easy enough to ignore the threads that get on your nerves. I also know that not every question is actually answered per each post. Or that people are looking for new answers/opinions. And, as we all know, ever since the search function changed a long time ago, it has never worked—if you can get it to work, you need to apply for sainthood. :worship: Plus, many people never leave the front page, so going back to look three pages back might not help. Some of those stroller questions are slightly different too. Many people stroll over the topic, read the first part of the question and then never open the thread to see that someone else asked for clarification or something different on page four of that thread. And then there are the people who post and never go back, or rarely go back. Newbies don’t always know how to work everything either. There are tons of reasons for those questions to keep popping up.

Now, furthermore (yes, there’s more :scared: )… Trying a stroller out at a store doesn’t tell you how it works in the real world. I did not know by wheeling my child (#2 wasn’t born yet) around in the sit-n-stand that I couldn’t reach the basket with a child in the back sit (sitting or lying). Or that the wheels on a certain double became shaky after a few months of use. Or how a particular stroller fit in the car. Or that a certain stroller would be good in the mall, but any outside surface and the thing became impossible to steer. Or how well the stroller would continue to work as the children got larger and heavier. These are the things you learn from people with experience!

I’m lucky that I have plenty of stores around that afford me the ability to look at strollers in person (even the $1200 kind), but many people don’t. They’ll have even more questions. Some people don’t buy stroller just for one Disney trip, but for eight years of continuous use. Then again, some people don’t use a stroller in their everyday life, so this stroller needs to be only for Disney (and many would be cheaper than renting, or have a resale value that would make it so) and they want to make sure that it fits as well as possible for Disney, as they have no experience.

Haven't been on the Disboards much this week, so I'm trying to do some catching up. After seeing, for the hundreth time, another post about "should I take my kid at this age or that age, etc. etc." (no offense to anyone:flower3: ) while wanting to scream "It's Disney, a magical world meant for all ages, take them please, take them now, take me too!" Then I stumbled onto this post, read it, realized I'm "one of those stroller people" and almost peed my pants! :rotfl2: Thank you to the OP for making me laugh, and reminding us all to stop taking things so seriously!

Now back to the age posters, your child is too young. I am 32, potty-trained and I don't need a stroller. Take me instead!:thumbsup2

...and I'll just bet that you are TALL ENOUGH TO GO ON ALL THE RIDES......:rolleyes1

I am a stroller fanatic too but enjoyed the OP. Between my sister and I, we have been through about 10 strollers. Most were purchased by looks or price but the info I got on the dis sealed the deal for the best stroller for my child. Everyone has different opinions and yes every stroller will work. It just depends on your preferences. Keep asking questions and I will skip if I don't want to read and I will post responses or ask questions myself if I feel like it. Just have fun!!!!!!

The OP didn't bother me but neither do the stroller threads.

I wish I had found this forum before I blew almost $500 on that Peg Perego everyone complains about. :lmao:

But of course, I traded it in for a Mac. ;)

This thread is just one more example of people taking things too seriously around here. The OP posted a big smiley face with her thread title. It was meant to be in fun and I think that's obvious. :)

Yea, what Kim said.:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

You know, after reading al the hoopla about strollers I've come to the realization that I must have denied my children a truely amazing Disney experience, because all they got to ride around in was a plain old cheap Graco. Just think of how much more fun they would have had if I had spent several hundred more on a really SUPER-DUPER stroller!

Laughed out loud when I read the original post.

What I don't understand is why people pay so much for strollers and other child gadgets. My child too, I'm sure, will be psychologically scarred from spending her first 2 years in a cossatto £25 umbrella stroller. :woohoo:

I most certainly did NOT mean to imply you should PM me and tell me I'm an idiot. (Although it may be the case.. it took a good half hour after reading that comment for it to sink in:rolleyes: )

LOL!!!!!

That is what I thought that you meant.

But this post really made me LOL!
