I read a lot of posts that recomend renting these strollers. Last time we took a stroller it was such a pain. It didn't seem that large to us but even folded we couldn't get it down the isles of the busses. My dh had to hold it over everones heads to get it to the back of the bus. He has vowed never to bring our stoller again and wants to rent one. But I agree with most people that it would be nice to have a stroller at the bus stops and at the Market Place.

So, my questions is... Are the ABBF strollers easy to take on and off the busses? Do they fold up pretty well or are they pretty bulky?

Thanks in advance!!! princess:

I'm sorry - what is ABBF?

We always bring our double-stroller, and my husband just asks the bus driver to open up the back door of the bus for him. No hitting people with the stroller or trying to squeeze down the aisle to get to the back! :)

Sorry, its A Baby's Best Friend. They rent out baby items in Orlando.

We tried asking the bus drivers to open the back door. Only one did, others refused (said it was a rule that they couldn't), and one actually lectured us over the speaker when we "snuck" in the back door after the last person stepped out of it. I couldn't believe she did that, we were so embarrassed! We were so annoyed with the whole situation that we quit asking the drivers for help and thats when Dh carried it on his head. I called and complained about the rudeness of the drivers but I have no idea if it did any good. Usually the drivers are very helpful but we just seemed to have bad luck with it on that trip.

Wow, I am so shocked to hear that! We've been doing it for years. Maybe they see that big honkin' double-stroller and know that there's no way to get it down the aisle without bouncing it off someone's head... :bounce:

Yeah, we were pretty shocked too. It seems like in the past the drivers had always been so friendly, although I never had to ask them to do anything special for me. It was close to Christmas, maybe they were stressed. Oh well...

It wasn't a double-stroller its just a regular stroller, but when it is folded up the wheels made it too wide to get it down the middle of the bus. It really isn't much bigger than most strollers I see, I guess it just doesn't fold up as well as others. That why I DESPERATELY want to hear about the strollers form ABBF because I don't want to have the same problem if I choose that option.

So, I was hoping maybe someone has experience with the ABBF strollers and can tell me if the strollers fold up enough to get on the bus. Anyone???

What kind of stroller do you own? I was looking at the ABBF site, and the double-stroller they rent out is the one I own. This pic even shows the pattern we have! LOL!

The single stroller at ABBF doesn't look any smaller than the Graco one we own. I hope someone else has some info for you on the strollers they rent out.

Maybe you could get a lightweight umbrella stroller. They fold up much more compactly, but most do not recline or have the basket underneath...

We rented from ABBF last year and they are great. We rented the single stroller and it is basically the same as our Graco. Not really small but it does fold up pretty fast. We are debating about our Nov trip. DD will be 4 1/2, plenty old enough to walk but still, if we walk from BWV to MGM or EPCOT, then we have "used up" some of her walking strength just getting there. Also, we use the stroller for us as much as DD just to dump our stuff. But I digress, I would say if it is really an issue, go to Walmart or Target and buy a cheap umbrella stroller. Otherwise rent from ABBF, they are wonderful!

Howdy, neighbor! :wave2: We are Cubs fans, too! :)

Our kids will be 3-mos, 3 yrs and 5 yrs on our next trip. We just went in Oct. and our oldest was almost 4.5. She was still tired enough to ride in the stroller a lot, and sometimes even slept in it (not that she ever naps at home! LOL!). We like to dump our stuff in the stroller, too, when the kids aren't in it. It's a lot better than carrying around bags and such...

Hi Disney Mama!

I live and breathe Cubby Blue!! One of the dogs' names is Sammy and DD's name is Grace but I had to swear to DH that it was just a coincidence! ;) :p

Thanks for the advice about the stroller, I think we will get one from ABBF so we can have it to go to and from the BWV. We are driving and don't want to take up space with our own and the ones at WDW just aren't that comfortable.

Thanks for the feedback!

Rebecca,

I love your dogs names! Too cute! And LOL @ telling your DH it's a coincidence! :)

You are right about the stroller taking up a lot of room. We drove in October, and it does take up quite a bit of space.

Nice to "meet" you!

Just had to jump in here, as a fellow Chicagoian and Cub fan, heading to WDW in Feb!

Our kids are 4 1/2, 3, and 9 months old... we are bringing our sit n stand and renting a single stroller from abbf (as well as an excersaucer!!!)

Love them!
