Has anyone rented strollers for bigger (older than 6) kids? My sons are 6 & 8, and I'm sure the walking in Animal Kingdom will wear them out (maybe World Showcase too). How many stroller stations are at these parks, and what are the weight limits on their strollers? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

There is no weight limit and the stroller rental is at the front of AK and Epcot and also at the International gateway at Epcot.
I have never rented a stroller for my kids after the age of 5, they seemed to have more than enough energy!!!! :) But, you know your kids and if it makes them happy and makes your visit more enjoyable then go for it. :)

They should both fit in a double stroller if they are pretty normal size kids. I think that Epcot is really the hardest on kids. They will most likely not need a stroller at MK or MGM. You will get lots of replys that kids that age are too big for a stroller, but please do whatever makes your trip better. I tried to talk my 8 year old into a stroller one night i wanted to stay at Epcot later and he was so tired. He would however not hear to that so it's possible the older one might refuse to ride in one.

Have a blast.

I wouldn't think twice about getting a stroller for my 7 yr old or my 4 yr old.

They were really tired last year in Epcot and we rented a double stroller.

It was plenty big enough and they sat back, relaxed and enjoyed the park. It allowed us to spend more time there than if we hadn't have had a stroller.

The strollers at Disney are good size and it doesn't look like a "baby" stroller.

It allows kids to rest. They even have pockets, etc. where you can put snacks or drinks and they allow kids to stay out of the Florida sun.

I saw a 60 year old man in one July 4th. I assume it was rented for a kid, but who knows.

My daughter is 7 and very tall for her age. I rented her a stroller for 7 out of the 10 days we were there. It helped so much and she fit in it just fine. The top part kept her in the shade, she was able to rest, and I alway knew where she was. When it is crowded and you have a group of 10, having all the kids in strollers is a big help!!!!

Mostly a lurker but had to reply to this one! Our last trip was two years ago when my oldest was 7. We went in July and it was HOT (with the sun beating down) and I suggested we rent a double stroller because he was complaining about the heat and walking and we could put our bags in it, as well. A lot of money is spent on the tickets and I knew the day would be ruined for all of us if this continued. He said there is no way he would ride in a "baby stroller".

An hour more of heat and walking and he said "ok, rent me one of those strollers". He happily rode along shaded for the rest of our day at the park with no complaints.

We are going again next week with kids ages 2 and 9. I suggested the stroller again, with the suggestion he would be helping keep brother company! He hasn't used a stroller since he was 4 and Disney is absolutely the only place I would suggest a stroller for a child this age! I also saw kids older than him in them. If it keeps everyone happy and enjoying their day at the park, who cares what someone else might think?! You'll never see them again anyway!

If the kids will ride in it, go for it!!;)
