Hi, I'm looking for suggestions on what strollers to take/rent on our upcoming WDW trip. We are going 11/6-11/12 and it will be the first visit for my daughter who turns 5 a few days before the trip, and my son will be 22 mos.

I have seen pictures of the rental double strollers. I figure we'd need a double since our 5 yr old will get tired from so much walking. The problem is that I'm not sure our son will sit still in the double which is the moulded plastic kind and when his sister would be right by his side. We did buy a nice, lightweight umbrella stroller and are looking to buy/borrow another one for the trip. Figured we'd need them also for getting the kids through transportation areas, walking the boardwalk, and even hotel property. Our traditional double stroller is just too big to be folding and carrying on the buses. We tested out two umbrella strollers w/ "stroller connectors" last night on a walk and were not thrilled with them. Figure we'll just each have to push an umbrella stroller even though our daughter won't be in it some of the time. Any suggestions?!?! And here's hoping it's not TOO warm or humid in November!!!!!

Thanks

I would bring your own strollers, if I were you. The rental strollers look so uncomfortable to me. I would never put my DD in one of those rental strollers. Bring 2 small strollers (preferably ones that recline so they'll be comfortable enough to take a nap if they need to). The last thing you want at DW is for your little kids to be uncomfortable!!!

Hope that helps!

Our kids are 6 and 3 and for YEARS we used to haul our own stroller down and what a pain it was. It was a double (one in front, one in back) and it was of pretty high quality. Trying to manuever it around in the parks was very difficult and caused us some grief.

One night we were in Epcot without it since we were just plain tired of it and a cast member came up and offered us an abandoned double Park Stroller. That's all it took for us as were are now hooked.

The Disney strollers are awesome. I can steer ours around with two kids in it with only one hand. Comes in handy during the Food & Wine festival as one hand is usually wrapped tightly around a glass of red wine :sunny:

You can purchase your stoller for the entire time you plan to use it when you go to rent one the first time. This will save you a lot of time each day as you will only need to walk up, show the ticket, then get your stoller. No lines! The pass is good to use at all parks all day for park hopping also so you don't have to worry about wasting it.

We go down for 10 days in October and we will definately get 10 tickets for stollers on our first day and then use the Disney stoller every day.

Here's a vote for bringing at least one stroller of your own for the baby. We usually bring our Graco stroller, which is a little bit big, but easy to push and very comfy with lots of storage. Then when the five year old gets tired, we rent a single from Disney, which isn't always every day since we take afternoon breaks to let the kids recharge their batteries. We like to have that one stroller for the walk back and forth to the monorail/bus and in the airport.

We've gone twice in the last two years, my kids are now 4 (will be 5 in Nov) and 2; last year they were just under 4 and 15 months old. Both times we took our small Cosco umbrella-type stroller from WalMart for the little guy. My 4 yo didn't use a stroller on either trip, except for one night last year after Fantasmic, the little one fell asleep in Daddy's arms, and he asked if he could ride in the stoller since his brother wasn't using it. We told 4-yo both times if he needed a stroller, we'd rent one for him, he just had to tell us.

I went down over Thanksgiving and brought our own stroller with us for my 18 month old son.. That way he had his own stroller to sit in.. The rental strollers dont have any storage on them..Our next trip we will need 2 strollers the kids will be 5 and 3 ..Iwas thinking of bringing our double stroller with us ..We might just bring our 2 umbrella strollers that are light weight..

I vote for bringing a nice umbrella for the baby and renting a single when needed for the 5 year old.

If you are shopping for a good umbrella type.....I recommend the Maclaren Volo or the Maclaren Quest or Triumph if you need recline. The Volo doesn't recline but my 18 mth old DD is still able to nap in it and it has a carry strap. It's a pleasure to push too!
