Strollers & car seat

For the first time our family is travelling with a baby under 2. We are planning to take her own car seat & stroller. Can anyone tell me how this works because she obviously does not have her own luggage allowance.

Are the items considered as mobility aids or do they come out of our allowances?

Where are they stored for the flight?....Hold or cabin? we need to have the stroller with us, for her use, for as long as possible til we board.

With strollers it depends, sometimes if there is room you will be able to take them onto the plane with you and they will be stored away.
However, the airline may also insist they go in the hold with the rest of the luggage.

If you want to take it on board ensure you make this clear at check-in, in our experience there are always a limited number of strollers that the airline will allow in storage in the cabin area.

most airlines take stroaler of you as you board plane at the end of walkway,you should be fine.they then put them in the hold

We have always been able to take stroller to the plane. The one time we did take a car seat I remember we checked it in but had to take it to a different area to hand it in.

we always took the stroller with us to the plane door (walkway) where they always insisted on taking it from us (giving us a door check tag)...
and then they would give it back to us at the door (walkway) on arrival....
but i think each airline has its own rule...

Yeah like others have said you keep your stroller with you to the plabe and check in your car seat.

We have never had to worry about it going as anyone's baggage allowance as most airlines see these items as necessties when travelling with a baby or toddler. We will have fun this year though as we are taking two car seats and two strollers! We must be mad!

We flew with Mytravel and we took our stroller to the gate and left it just before we boarded the plane. We also checked in our car seat as well as having a booster in our luggage for dd and there were no problems but we were about 9k under our full allowance.
