This will be my first trip flying with a child so I am alittle out of my element here. DS is 2 and I would prefer to keep him in the stroller as OHare is a HUGE airport and don't want to lose him. Can I bring my stroller with my to the gate and "gate check it?" Does that mean I get it back at the gate at MCO or does it go to baggage claim?
Also, what happens with it at the security checks?

Thanks for any advice to this novice (and nervous) flyer!

Your stroller will have to be inspected when you go through security at ORD. Your child will go through also. When you get to the gate have the gate agent give you a tag for the stroller. When you go to board you leave it outside the plane. They will stow the stroller. When you get to MCO your stroller will be waiting outside the plane. You might have to wait a bit for it to be there but that is where they will take it. Do not go to baggage claim until you have the stroller.

A few other suggestions:
Talk to the gate agent to get a gate check tag before the flight starts loading. The Gate agent has to mark the tag with your flight number; chances of it getting marked correctly are much better if the gate agent can do it before boarding.
Befoer leaving the stroller at the gate, you should remove anything is attached to the stroller (removeable cup holders, removeable canopies, etc). Then fold up the stroller and secure it so it won't unfold during handling.
