Does the search feature just not work here, or is it just me?
I'm sure it gets discussed a billion times a day here. I am just trying to decide which double stroller to buy. (I'm not spending $30 a day to rent one!)
Suggestions or links to stroller threads welcome.

Here's the details:
-3 kids--DD will be 10 months and say 20 lbs.
DD 3 yrs and around 30 somthing lbs.
DS 6 yrs and about 60 lbs...just in it occaisionally. A 55lb limit stroller would work, a 40 lb probably not.
Dh is 6'2" so the handle can't be too short.
Looking for a double stroller that's good for the World and the buses.

I don't have one but know that the baby jogger city mini is recommended alot on here. there is a long thread with lots of reviews of different strollers on here somewhere. I will go look for it.

We are in Disney right now with DD's 2 and 4 and the combi has been great, and it's reasonably priced, around $200 new. I have a stroller problem and have tried out many, and own many. My favorite is my $600 baby jogger city double classic, but it's bigger and bulky.
Good things about the combi:
  • Very VERY light
  • Easy to fold
  • COMPACT
  • Older children can fit in it too
  • Less flimsy than it's peg perego cousin
  • Great sun shades
  • Weather cover is only $14

Downfalls:
  • Not a great bottom basket
  • The hook that keeps it closed works well, but sometimes get a little stuck when you're collapsing it.

It's funny, I posted today asking about a Baby Trend Sit and Stand-- our children are about the same ages as yours and I'm considering one of these. I found one on Craigs List for $50, which is great, so we don't have to rent one. I"m waiting to see what people think of that before getting it, but think we're going to do it.....it's about 20 lbs., folds easily, basket underneath, parent tray but my only concern is the recline on the seat for the baby. We have a Graco Duoglider and we're trying to sell that on Craig's list beacuse it's just huge and heavy and a lot to get on and off buses, for sure. So I don't recommend that, just as an FYI. Good luck!!:goodvibes

I used the baby trend sit n stand on our trip last month. My DD was 17 months -about 22 lbs and DS-6. It worked out really well for us, and I'm thinking at times (like at closing ect.) your 3 and 6 yo could probably fit in the back together. Just an idea, let me know if you have any specific questions about it. -And we did use it on the buses, if that matters.

I tried using the search feature for stroller yesterday too and came up with nothing.

I have quite a history of stroller buying. I am constantly searching for the best
I have had
**Graco Metrolites-LOVE these, light, fold easy. Actually were planning on taking the 2 we have this time, till I ruptured my Achilles and wont be pushing
**Graco DuoGlider-HATED this. So hard to push on anything but indoors
**Zooper Tango-Loved this stroller, but sold it because we did not use it enough to justify the $400 we payed.
**Graco Ipo's- bought 2 for our last trip. Folded ok, bit heavy, but the steering go whacky after just 5 days of use.
**Joovy Caboose-HATE, same stroller as sit and stand. I find it hard to push unless indoors. Back sit/stand child is uncomfortable unless front seat is fully upright. WOnt work for us if both kids are tired and need a catnap or something.

Just bought InSTEP Suburban Safari Double Jogger last night. I am hoping it works ok. I liked the decent sized storage, nice parent tray, fairly light weight for double jogger, pushes easy, easy fold.

I was told by others here that if you have a particularly large stroller that if you ask the bus driver to open the rear door they usually will. Wont be an issue for us because I will be going in that way with my wheelchair.

Hope you find something that works

I wanted to say that I LOVE MY GRACO METROLITE!!!!!!!! I've owned two and they are wonderful...plenty of storage, easy to manuever and very lite and just perfect. I"ve recommended them to sooo many people and they feel the same way about them.:lovestruc

We used www.orlandostrollerrentals.com in August and it was awesome. They rent the Baby Jogger City Mini stroller and it was a dream to use. The kids loved the double and I wasn't going to spend $400 to buy one when I can rent it for $85 for the week. They drop it off at your hotel's bell stand and you just bring it back to the bell stand at the end of your stay. It was very easy and Shannon was great to deal with. They are recommended highly here on the disboards for good reason.

We just replaced our double Maclaren which we were not very thrilled with. We purchased a Babyplanet Unity Twin stroller. We love it! You have to take a look at one online to see the handle bar. It is the only double side by side that I've seen that you can EASILY push with one hand (while usually holding one of the kids in your arms). The seats recline all the way back for both comfort and an emergency diaper change. The size of the baskets are pretty big, equal to the Maclaren. There are also 2 adult cup holders. I recommend taking a look at it! Good luck.

We LOVE LOVE LOVE our BJ DOUBLE CITY MINI. It's WONDERFUL. We looked at the Combi, but I have the single and I think the double would be just too flimsy and hard to push with a higher weight child in it.
